Cities Skylines 2 is Official!

If it helps, its yet another title which is going to be on gamepass. :)

This will be great at first, however I imagine very quickly I'll want to buy it, the Steam version is unrivaled due to the workshop, unless they do something to allow those who bought it through MS Store or have gamepass to use the workshop somehow this way around?

I swore I would never pre-order another game ever again, but this is getting real close to getting a pre-order from me!

Indeed, gotta agree. But I caved when they first announced it, and bought it cheaper over at CD Keys.
It was always going to happen, me buying it, so I just gave in at the start and indulged :)

Some more commentary regarding the City Services update.......

and more written detail also....

Can't seem to find it on CDKeys anymore, has it been removed?

Edit: Ignore me, i'm blind!

The scaling up of individual buildings, rather than having to spam the same building down multiple times is great! Used to suck having to just have tonnes of schools next to each other so the high density area you had could get enough education. Likewise making the bigger waste disposal areas. This game is looking better and better.

Yeah, when it was announced on GP at first i thought perfect, dont have to buy it, but then realised the majority of people into this sort of game are still going to end up buying it on Steam simply because its the far better experience due to workshop. Unless CS2 changes that be having mod searching within the game, anyone spending a decent amount of time playing CS2 is going to want it on Steam.

However its now become my pre-order replacement, and see how the first week goes. It lets me act principled about not pre-ordering games without having to sacrifice a damn thing :D

Havent watched a deep-dive vid for this week, but i liked the landfill being huge and a custom plot, rather than a fixed size plot.

This is one of the things i missed from SimCity 2013(?), I noticed it in one of the earlier videos but I don't think they'd mentioned it so was hoping it was the case, now the new video shows it is :D

Biffa talking about playing the CS2 beta, and answering questions. Havent watched it, hopefully its worthwhile posting.

A not unexpected video, I’ll watch it later. His content is usually pretty decent.

In his video on Monday he highlighted one of the cities the devs were using was called ‘New New Tealand’.

I don’t think you can categorise that as a subtle ‘I’ve played this game already’ hint and more of a blatant tease.

I would have liked the option to lay down my own infrastructure, it just seems simplified more now. Then again depth and substance was never a thing for CS.
Water pipes were mainly just busy work though and power automatically linked up in built up areas anyway.

I think its change is quite interesting, particularly the concept of power bottlenecks. You actually have to build a power grid now, that could get complex in a big city.

Ground water looks like an interesting idea too.

Hopefully they have some decent cosmetic options for carrying HV electrical lines to substations deep within a city and its not just those tall pylons you usually see out in the countryside.
