Cities: Skylines

Not heard of any sort of campaign mod, other than some modders calling theirs "campaign" for some odd reason.

Whilst it's not CS, could check out Aven Colony.
That has a campaign mode & a sandbox.

Did you design those models yourself?

No I got the power station assets from steam workshop then broke them apart so that I could place them as separate building into the map. The carpark is also made from assets within the workshop just played about to make a custom version.

I could dig out the links to them if you wished :)

See I've not started out with unlimited funds, otherwise it'd be miles easier to get what you want :D

Mines coming along, built some metro station s earlier, along with connecting my city up to another 'exit' as gracefully as I can.

Finally able to build high story's and the larger street shops, attempting to keep those on the other side of the river. Oh and my farm area is slowly coming along on the fertile land

I've got 240 hours in this game so far. Can easily open up a city from months ago and find something to tweak/expand. Using an asset that gives 4 lane avenue with tram and monorail which is getting good use :D

I love this game, had it for a now just not played in a while but the recent activity in here has reminded me i should play it again. I have all the expansions except green citys and mass transit.

I do get extremely jealous seeing how good others cities are i just seem to lack any sort of creativity haha

Whats the general consensus on mass transit worth it?

Assume mass transit is an expansion?

Yeah. £9.99 on steam. Personally I have only got After Dark and Match Day. I really need to get the others at some point.

Considering this thread has suddenly become a lot more active would anyone be willing to do a collaboration of some sorts? Decide on a map, addons/mods and swap saves every now and then. Report progress on here. Might be fun. :)

Must admit seeing this thread getting active again got me wanting to play it again; spent last weekend watching some YouTube videos again. Deleted all my old saves and started a new vanilla build. Got it up and running in a reasonable amount of time, still only the first block being used and stockpiling money before starting up the second and third zones. Keep wasting / splashing money trying to get an effective exit from the highway into the first zone too as there's a lot going on already. One big-ish roundabout worked for a long time until the lorries and such heading to my industrial zone started backing up an awful long way. Had a decent one-way system working for the entire industrial zone but it seems it started to bottleneck on the exit back to the roundabout. Such a great game, can waste hours and hours on this.

I'm actually going to try it on the lounge TV this weekend as my Steam Link arrived a week or two ago, that should be fun! :D

I am trying a city based entirely on the superblocks method of building (The way Barcelona is built) and it seems to be working great although there is a little bit of congestion on some roads.

Note to self however, Do not add a district across your entire residential area and decide to change the theme to European suburb...... 6k population and 150k in the bank to 200 population and bankrupt in about a minute :D

I found. Asking underground roads to avoid the congested areas quite helpful for industrial areas. Just gives people an alternative route.

Play around with the traffic lights as well.

I think the design I ended the night with involved an underground through road and seemed to calm things down a bit. Half the fun is having to play around with it though, so it's not all bad! :D
