Cities: Skylines

My city has some ridiculous rail congestion and no matter what I do, I cannot fix it! I've tried adding routes around stations that are causing the delay so that other trains can move past, but nothing gets the trains moving again. They still queue even when they don't need to be at the station that's causing the delay. I've got a rail link that comes from off-map into my city and it's literally at a complete standstill. The traffic management in this game is infuriating at times!

One of the traffic mods can "delete" all current traffic. Useful if you have jammed it up proper and since fixed it... But the jam cant free itself.

Ah awesome. I had one of the popular traffic mods on, but I think that with the latest update it's been broken. I'll have another look :)

You could consider having the stations placed as a branch off the main line as the trains and traffic will take the shortest route and not the least congested one so make sure the branch is the longer of the two meaning the trains will only stop there if needed

Been playing around a bit with the game and after watched some YouYube footage from a chap called Keralis, I decided to try and do something more then just letting the game grow the buildings. Was pretty fun but still much to learn. Build myself a Bus Depot, with some added buses and personal cars on the employee parking lot. :p On the city picture the depot is top right corner, just below the waste yards.

Anyone else doing similar stuff or just letting the city grow by itself ? Sorry, but a few o many pages to go through to find out. :o

Gets addictive doesnt it :)

For me after watching some youtubers who properly design areas I ended up sinking hours into designing parks and things.

For me, after watching the type of youtubers you mention, and over 400 hours of game play I'm reminded at how horrendous and barely functional my Cities become.
Gotham looks positively utopian by comparison to my own creations...!

Are the DLCs key to the experience in this? I mean id be tempted on the main game as its what £5... but putting all the DLC in and its coming in at over 30 quid by the looks of it. Id like a city game, but I always feel like im missing stuff where DLCs are concerned.

The base game is more than enough. The mods can add way more than DLC and are all free.
Not to say the DLC isnt worth it, but try the base game first it is more than enough by itself!
