Cities: Skylines

I'm going to have a fresh play through of this. Just noticed that there are 13 DLCs for this game now. I won't be getting them at full price, so I'll wait for a sale, but which are worth picking up?

Will be formatting my C: drive soon does anyone know how I can be sure I wont lose my save/mods? Pretty sure I save the maps but not sure if steam will remember what mods I used.

Do you have another HDD or partition? just copy the Steam apps folder to a different drive then put it back after you formatted and installed Windows/Steam.

So I have started to make my intersection on the way into the main town on my Arizona themed project (borrowed a few idea's you can see here), what do you guys think and would anyone wanna help on this project?

What is your style? Are you wanting to detail like the youtubers do or just looking to make a functional and nice looking but not too uniformed city/town/suburbs etc. I have a decent PC but it would struggle with lots of assets and mods.

I am thinking buying this but was wondering if there is any of the DLC's that are "essential" to pick up at the same time ?? Like Green Cities, Mass Transit, Snowfall, After Dark or any of the others, although some seem to be just some extra music like Rock City Radio ??

Also while on the subject, is there any essential mods that one should add to make the experience better from the start ?? I notice trafick always seem to be a problem in these kind of city building games, same in this or not ??

The base game should be enough to see if this game is for you.
As for mods. Without the traffic president or whatever it calls itself now I dont think I could play it. And the road anarchy mods.

Thanks, grabbed the base game for €4.17, well, was actually the Deluxe one, but since it was cheaper then the base thought I could as well. Will have a ponder around and see how it is. Loved the Sim City games until that disaster that EA made after SC4. Heard good things about this one though so hopefully it be some fun. :)

Its good fun. Much better than SC2013 :)

My only complaint is it is very much a sandbox really. If you arent good at setting your own targets for things then it is easy to get a bit lost.

Fortunately for me I love it :)

The mods and assets can become compellingly addictive. You can very easily get into four figures for assets and then watch your memory tank as the game loads them.
Mods can be pretty crucial to your style of gameplay and some are considered to be indispensable. But I have seen cities made with over 500,000 pop and completely vanilla.
I had started to use building styles and themes, some beautifully created and shared ones, but my goodness does it not only use the PC's memory up but also your time with creation and development.
