Cities: Skylines

Finally getting back into this little beauty, played it to death when it first came out, but always got frustrated with traffic problems and gave up. Already had maybe 400 assets in my library with around 30 mods, but just seen some new graphical mods that have peaked my interest again.

Just started my little city, early days at the moment but kinda excited to see how this one develops.

Do you use any graphics/lighting mod? If so which one?

That looks great. Nice sleepy town in the middle of nowhere :)

What map are you using? Never thought to try a heavily forested map.

It's Aurora Borealis http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=758898755&searchtext=aurora
it's a beautiful map, love the North American/Canada feel to it.

Yes I do.

These are the ones that I think visually really make the difference. In order of importance. Post Process FXv1.9 is huge to make the image pop. I only really mess with the last tab which is Ambient Occlusion to get those deep shadows. I put all the sliders to the far right but leave last one set to "depth"

@TonyTurbo78 beautiful screens there, looking really nice.
I do hope that it continues to maintain a reasonable level of performance as your city grows.
But not every map is about huge population.

That map is visually very nice. It must have taken a lot of effort to include that level of detail.

BonBonB is worth subscribing to on YT for map reviews, for those who do not know.

That map got a small review here....

Thanks mate. Hopefully my 8700k helps me out when i get hundreds of thousands population.

Will check that link out thanks.

Check out the CSL Show More Limits mod and be aware of the games hard coded limits, maybe you know that already :)
Regardless of how much processing power you have once you reach those limits the city tends to implode.

It helps to know at the start because if you intend to go for a bigger city then you can keep your eye on those stats and build accordingly.

My 6700k at 4.6ghz gets around 70% + load at around 250k pop, but that is with mods.

^^^^ looking really nice :)
You'll have to remove the doughnut and hotdogs tho ;)

I'm just going through my mods and assets, way too many that aren't needed. Not the easiest of tasks....!

Just watching a lets play and noticed that Sam Bur has a whole series based on that map you are using....

....he is up to episode 37 at the moment, you gotta pull some all nighters to catch him up :D

@TonyTurbo78 Do you if you can add the graphics mods to a current city, or do you have to start a new one?

Also do they require any of the dlc to work? I tried installing a few mods the other day but I only have the base game and not sure if it was because of that that I was having issues with the game crashing.
