Civilization V

ooooh got a link to that manual?

Also, bhavv...where did you get those tips for Civ V from? Are they from beta testers?

Nope. Made it up from reading the manual.

Also I know Civ as though everything about it is written on my backhand, I've been a Civ junkies for over a decade ..... :(

Halp me Civanon.

okay it's time to order this game but which flippin version !!!!

D2D for the deluxe £39 gives ;- **which you get via Steam**
Steam deluxe £39 gives ;-
now obviously it's the same package but the D2D ''FREE Premium DLC FREE Premium DLC Get the first Double Civilization and Scenario Pack for FREE when available "*Availability currently set to late 2010. Date subject to change." seems to swing it dont you think ?? i'm hovering over the Buy from D2D personally ...

Buy it from D2D since it's a Steamworks game and will give a code to add to Steam anyway.

ok. i still cant decide on steam deluxe or retail special edition

anyone now if the one shop that is selling the special edition in the UK ships before release date or on release date?

If i choose retail special what are the chances i will have it on (or before) friday?

Game usually ship pre orders two days before release day, I always get them a day early.

They are allowed to do that because delivery can sometimes take 2 days.

The D2D digital deluxe comes with Babylon, plus a double civ DLC once it is released later in the year.

I think this is the first game in a long time I've been excited about.

Looking forward to the gameplays changes, looks a lot more strategic and I like the idea of finite resources. No stacks of doom either! :D

Might even have to give multiplayer a go. Never done it before, should be plenty of people willing to play on here!

Yeah I won't be bothering with the demo, I might have if it had been out weeks before the release but as its only out a few days before the games release I'll just wait to play the full game instead

I'll be playing the demo for sure. Haven't played a Civ game in a couple of years so it'll be good to get a bit of practice in before I start a proper campaign with the full game.

Like a pathetic junkie who keeps clicking his preloaded game every few hours just to check I will be all over that demo like flies on ****.

You're not enough of a junkie unless you're going to try to connect to steam through a US proxy to see if the full Civ V unlocks tomorrow first :p

" I had to drag myself to bed both nights I played it. And that’s the point, isn’t it? I have to say Civilization V is the best turn-based game I’ve played since the original SimCity."

That sounds promising, except that Sim City 1 wasnt turn based :p

Now I'm 10x more impatient :(

Well, yes. Civ V has really gone off on a different tangent.

But its still better than all the ones before it according to reviews.

And Civ III was the worst one to be honest, Civ IV was far far better than that.
