Civilization V

whats the command to show hexes?

G.

One thing I'm not sure about in the new version is the no stacking of units, seems to be about what you build then and not rather how many

That's the point. :p

Its meant to make it more strategic.

Just delete the Civ 5 installation after launch then and re dowload the whole thing.

Might do this. Although I might try deleting the .gcf file for it in the steam folder and see what happens, I think its meant to save the stats and encryption data. I haven't been online in Steam since installing it.

I don't know whether I should buy this game. I played the demo, and if that's all there is, I don't think it will hold my interest for very long.

There seemed to be no objective, just get to the space age and win the game I guess? I played up until I got into the Gold Age, and the gameplay basically consisted of:

move warriors
select research
select production
end turn
move warriors
end turn
move warriors
end turn
move warriors
end turn
select new research
move warriors
end turn
select new production
move warriors
end turn

etc etc...

Obviously you have workers improving income in certain areas, and diplomacy with other factions, but is that basically all there is to it?

If this does not unlock in around 10 minutes I'm going to sleep! I don't have to be up until 9.00am so i thought i could last until about 3am... but I am seriously flagging and my bottle of coke is low!

The demo doesn't really give it a fair chance. You don't seem to develop as fast at the start compared to previous civs.

Around 100~200 turns it starts to get more interesting. IMHO.

WTF, why can't I play it even though it's pre loaded and it's been released now, it still says I need to wait for release ?

Well it gets unlocked at 00:00 UTC, which is +1 for BST so technically it's only 2300 UTC, 1 hour to go?

It said 1 hour remaining an hour ago on the store page ( well for me, NL anyhow) and it says it's available now on the store page, but double clicking on it still gives me ''pre loading complete'' grrrr.
