Civilization VI

Or insulting you and becoming angry because you do not have a tech that even itself doesn't have while is 1000 turns away. eg Economics while it is on 3000BC. (a bright example).
Speaking of Economics last weekend I had another stupid one. My empire had 5000+ gold stored I am on 500+ gold a turn with a massive trade route empire and 2 AI's who where green friendly suddenly got angry and decided I am going bankrupt and so went from green to red.

Its not complete just last weekend I was playing a multiplayer game and everyone in that game agree its missing features. It better after the 2nd expansion but still not as good as Civ 5 and the AI is a major let down.
Ah I see, I’ll stick with Civ 5 for the time being then, as it’s familiar :p

That idiocy in this game has put me off since release. And tried it a month ago but failed. I rather play Imperator if I want backstabbing AI country

At least is down to the death of the monarch and the successor having set in his mind that I am too big of a threat.

But there the AI is clever, tries to create friction within your own country first.

The CPU players in V are no better though and they still cheat all the same.

Civ 6 is just an eye candy job, poor game play and still to many bugs at this stage of development well i hope it is still in development because if this is the finished job then this is one of the biggest let downs in the civ series.

Had a great emperor difficulty science win at the weekend. I really appreciated the power of religion in this game. A good 10 cities churning out large amounts of religion made a huge difference. I could buy settlers with it, buy some buildings, defend against religious conversion attempts and buy key great people to help get to science victory.

To be honest, I am good with this. I wonder how much they are looking to charge though? £40?

To buy all 6 packs in advance is £32.99 , however you can pick and choose individually and only buy the packs you want, so given that its 32.99 for all 6 in advance I'm guessing the individual prices will be maybe 6.99 or 7.99 or thereabouts.

When all 8 new civilizations are in, that will bring the total number of Civs in the game to 50, which is pretty cool.

Yep. They have my money. I will be buying this for the other half too.

£33 is a bit steep for this, that basically what the game cost to begin with, I'll wait until its on sale I think.

I personally do not see an issue with the price. It is optional and as all the gameplay balances are being made to the base game, it's only about getting the new content which I want. I spend so much time on civ that £33 is very cheap per hours spent.

If the "More" quoted on the ad includes better AI I'll buy the DLC, otherwise I'll probably pass on it. A typical Civ 6 game has a very tough beginning where you are trying to overcome the barbarians and the AI countries' artificial starting advantages like extra units. Then if you get past this period intact there's a long, predictable, drawn out slog to inevitable victory. Currently I am playing Three Kingdoms: Total War and its Campaign mode AI is way better, much less predictable, I never feel safe even when I am ahead in the game and the AI makes far fewer really dumb decisions. Its a shame because apart from the dumb AI Civ 6 could be a really good game.

civ 6 imo is really boring as hell, ai is pretty terrible.
I miss the old civ games civ 4 was the peak
What I miss is the old demographics page where you can look at your Gold, production, population size see your rank and compare against other empires all on one page. I Still have no clue how to work out my empire population size in Civ 6 short of adding it all up which is not practical.

It was pointless but building up the room or palace as your empire grows was good. Also those talking head videos.

I suppose the way to look at it is that its £33 for 6 DLCs over the course of the next 12 months, so the equivalent of £5.50 per dlc or £2.75 per month.

I don’t disagree but I don’t think those DLC as they are described are actually adding much to the game.

The number 1 rule of video games these days is don’t pre-order, that should certainly apply to the promise of un-described DLC over the next year....

The pass will likely be 33%-50% off by Xmas anyway.

yea a lot of stuff is missing or deeply hidden , I don't like the UI and the map as god damn awful, you can't tell whats a hill and whats a plain

didn't their used to be "the greatest civilizations" thing every 10 or so turns as well showing a different type each time, most educated, most powerful, most peaceful, most religious or whatever they were.

I do miss that from Civ3 and 4 to be honest, but I also like the districts in Civ6. It is a trade off I do not deny and it does make you wonder why they simply do not sort out the AI?
