Im a Gooner and im really please for 'pool, because there an English Team, it really goes back to what wenger said the other week about this Cup being based more on luck nowadays. How can you be only 5th best team in your country yet Best Team in Europe. You cant even say they've had it easy, qualifying on last day then beating Juventus, Chelski and AC is such a big achievement. Well Done!

Wenger needs to be a bit quiet tbh, they werent exactly at their best against the mancs, and still managed to win the fa-cup.Same analogy imo

bouncebackability !! Legend lalalala

Can't add anything that hasn't been said already. Amazing.

I'm in the dog house for getting smashed on a school night but I don't care, I've had bugger all else to celebrate this week. Well done Liverpool.

I'm not bitter, Milan should have won that game. Second goal should never have counted, should have been disallowed. That was a dive from Gerrard, If it was the Italians that did that they would have been ripped about it.

milans second goal shouldnt have counted as it was a penalty for hand ball, and if you were not bitter u would mention that.

can u tell me who deserved to win between milan and PSV?

and little gatty clipped his leg, why would gerrard dive when he had a clear shot on goal from close range

That was no hand ball, if you saw it properly it was a tackle and he moved his elbow up to get it out the way, thats why i felt it never needed a mention.

Gerrard would never have a clear shot on goal, there were two milan players in front of Gattusso.

Bitter Man Utd fan ? Shock ! :p

Handball, yes, certain handball, you could see the player move his arms towards the ball.

Gattutso should have walked, the two milan players you mention were too far to the side, if Gerrard hadn't got tripped the first player he would have ran into would be the Milan keeper, irrelevent of who was 10ft to the side of him.

Ive not heard any of the Milan players, management or fans complain about the goals or the decisions, ive not heard any one dispute the dodgy decisions. To be fair to the players on the pitch they played a great game of football in the highest of respect for one and other and didn't moan or groan, just got on with the game and never disputed any decisions. It was a freak game for sure and when it went into extra time it was a case of any team will win and the team that does win deserves to win it. No team deserved to loose that final, and in all fairness there was two winners for contesting a superb display of football.

PENALTY

im watching the replay again and I would have had a clear shot on goal nevermind gerrard, you are bitter sir, send me your address and I shall send u a bouquet of lemons.

The players never noticed the offside as the referee let the advantage play on but it was no advantage as Liverpool had the ball. The linesman was waving furiously then put it down.

My take:

No penalty for handball and you play to the whistle. Milan did well to take advantage of the situation. I've seen them given, but IMO no penalty was deserved for the handball.

The tackle on Gerrard should have been a sending off. He was clean through on goal.

I think a penalty for the handball would have been very very harsh, he barely had a moment to see the ball coming let alone get his arms out of the way.

I also think the penalty for the foul on Gerrard was a penalty, but that Gattuso should maybe have been booked but not sent off, I think a red (although technically correct) would've been very harsh.

All in all I thought the officials had a very very good game.

It's very hard for me to say this, but WELL DONE LIVERPOOL. All credit to the team for never giving up, and the defending after they got back level was immense. Carragher, as he's been all season, was a rock that AC just couldn't get past. Dudek was great as well, he's always been dodgy handling wise, but I've never doubted his shot stopping ability, and he showed it again last night.

Great game, great performance, Liverpool - Champions of Europe. :)

Look pal do you want me to say we were lucky?

then YES we were.

right now we are not as big as Chelsea, Milan, Juve or man United, were not as rich, and we certainly aint as good a footballing side.

all we have to balance that out is our players Hearts and our managers Head and a nice slice of Luck, ask the united fans about that, they got killed by Bayern Munich for 89 mins and still won.

On paper we shouldnt have beaten juve, chelsea or Milan, but then why would we bother loving this game if the result matched the paper every time.

We are the champions of europe in an excellent final and that is all that matters to me

I suppose with Gattuso being a known dirty **** it might make it appear slightly worse than usual, but IMO it was a professional foul. Looked like he ran across him on purpose to me. And he was the last man...
