If you are patient enough, that is definitely the best move :)
Once you get your clan castle up and running, request an invite to OCUK 2.0
 
I'm working on getting all my collectors and storages up to maybe level 9/10, currently on level 2 town hall, so yeah maxing out all I can before moving up :)

Damn this game, i have never been so addicted to anything since wow 5+ years since!

Bloody walls are well expensive, mind.
 
I try not to bother with walls. Later on the main threats are hog riders and to a lesser extent dragons, balloons/minions - all of which ignore walls.

They do have a purpose in slowing down other troops but I am concentrating on defences first.
 
Been getting more and more bored of this, been playing it for over a year now but running out of things to do unless I spend vast sums of money on it. I'm at the stage now when upgrades take days to save for and there is no need to even check on it for days at a time. Its great at the start when there stuff to do all the time but that fades in time. Shame, more IAP ruining games
 
I aint in the OCuk clan, in a clan with mates otherwise I would have joined. IAP = ruins everything. Updated the spreadsheet, thanks for the reminder.
 
Yeah I'm at a bit of a stalemate in the game too.

I mine X amount, someone steals it, I mine it again while the shield is on, then it runs out and someone steals it again. I might get a slight bonus from robbing someone else but my net gains are so small it takes several days just to get a couple of hundred thousand gold bricks. It'll take me a month just to get enough to get my next upgrade as they're all at least 2m now. I've been trying to get to 17500 of dark matter to upgrade my big sword bloke but I just constantly bobble around the 16000 mark with mining and being robbed.
 
2 ways to get around this.

1. Drop trophies
2. Play more, which isn't always possible of course, so try no. 1
 
Is that why I sometimes get people attack me with one archer and then leave, meaning they lose and drop down the trophy list to give easier opponents?
 
yes exactly :)

But it's also a valid tactic for yourself to stay at a level that is right for you. What is your town hall level?
 
Yeah I'm trying to keep my trophies down by doing that kinda thing.. although I usually hit all the loot so although I loose trophies I get some decent loot :)
 
Maybe I need to make my resources better defended.
