COD Black Ops looks pretty good on PC

MW2 had terrible weapon balance :/ Combined with terrible perk combinations. Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed it during the 6 months or so that I played (tolerated?) it but black ops is far far better now it's kinks have been worked out. Only minor annoyance currently being the abundance of rc cars and the odd bad spawn (which seems to happen more in certain game types than others).

how can a game with no dedicated servers (mw2) be smoother ?

lets see dedicated servers vs someones home line :D comedy gold think ill just not post in here anymore it really is just silly now :p

Ask Treyarch and gameservers.com eh?

Good quality home lines would be just as good, if everyone had low pings to each other. Dedicated servers aren't doing anything special and Black Ops proves that they aren't a panacea to a smooth lag-free game.

MW2 has less client fps lag, very low levels of stutter, ingame actions/transitions are smooth and consistant i.e. in Black Ops when I switch from hip to ADS on the move I often find I'm not quite looking exactly where I instinctly expected, in MW2 its spot on. If you get a good host the netcode is generally good enough in MW2 to be smooth as well, obviously not so great on your average dsl host tho.

I'm a sucker for games with perks, killstreaks, etc. personally, plain old fps games don't really do it for me any more. (Unlike some I have both the ability to get the kills needed to use the killstreaks and the ability to counter other players killstreaks/perks effectively, instead of moaning how crap they are because I lack the skill to overcome them).

Medal of Honor does have rewards like UAV and mortars etc. Plus ranks similar to CoD where you unlock different weapons/attachments/skins. Not to the same degree as CoD though.

Both games are kinda ruined for me now :( guess I'll go back to playing Eve online, dunno what I'll do for my fps fix.
Id reccomend BFBC2, the ranking system is very addictive, much more of a thinking fps, particularly on the right server. Ive given up on black ops, had to disable sli to get it running ok, whereas bc2, run it maxed and it plays fine.

Not a fan of the battlefield games - tho BF2 did swallow quite a bit of my life - the combat has always felt clumsy to me compared to the fluidness that comes from the idtech3 engine. And while I expect BC2 has more gamemodes it generally seems to consist of pointlessly running from flag to flag which doesn't really do it for me.

Thought I'd give the gunship a whirl (first time) did a bit crap with it but do like my final score :D think I prefer the AC130 tho.

Play bfbc2:Vietnam, rush mode means ya less likely to be rushing from flag to flag. Maybe someone can explain why cod games demand a higher price than other pc cps games? Cod:bo is currently £40 and previous mw2 was £40 and then had the cheek to ask for more money for a map pack!! Dice who make bfbc2 recently reased a free map pack which was quality and now a large expansion which could be a stand alone game in its own right is only be priced at £10. Are cod games worth the extra price?

LOL @ the gun ships

Was playing TDM before and every time I re-spawned it got me! Suppose it would anger some people but it's all good fun!

Must say I am really enjoying playing it, Only got it yesterday too. Slight bit of lag every now and again and some rare FPS drops but nothing to cry over.
