2/3rds of my "gaming experience" in MW2 was sitting in a lobby that kept crashing, finding a host or just taking its sweet time to load

5minuet games followed by 5 minute waits in lobbys hoping server wouldnt crash

for every hour i played mw2 i spent a good 30-40mins in a lobby

Yes how he thinks matchmaking beats servers i will never know. He must not like getting a game. He also must love cheats.
 
I liked the Matchmaking for the fact you could join a game without being like, oh crap, thats hc and stuff like that, we'll see how the server choices are on this one.

Thats why you can filter servers and find exactly what you want, not exactly hard work.

Use the filter option to filter out hardcore. Pick the server you want to play on. If you want a highly populated server, join that one otherwsie choose another.
 
So what's the best thing to do with buying the game? I can very easily go to a midnight launch and get the pc version, if i do does that mean i'll be able to play it as soon i as i install? The other option is to get it off steam but this would seem pointless if i can go to a midnight launch and play it as soon as i get in.

It's Steamworks, it's activated on steam regardless if you buy it from there or not.
 
Not sure but I think you will have to install it through steam anyways, and wait till early morning for it to unlock, however I may be wrong.

midnight for retail and 7-9am for those who purchased via steam

lol knew that would happen something similar happened with MW2

glad i saved a tenner and got retail

You realise the retail version still has to be unlocked/activated via Steam don't you?!?!

Obviously not..
