I just rang the sales team to change my delivery address because I'm moving to uni tomorrow. They said the purchasing team were confident the barebones would arrive by next week at the latest, guess that kind of puts this week at an unlikely possibility. We can still pray though. I'm going to have to make do with my old pentium 3, 512mb. 20gb laptop until it arrives... so I've got to be suffering more than most people!

Hehe, I could really do with mine by the 14th but it's the not the end of the world. I'm just itching :D.

Matt1 - I am on an eeepc so I am not far behind on the suffering stakes :(

I thought they were arriving yesterday or today :( that really sucks, another week of waiting......

I think it's more like worse case scenario. They're probably building them now and laughing under the breath. (I really hope so :D)

The models they're using are so new, only just being released now so it's cutting edge. We can't complain too much.

Hey Matt, your sig mentions a customised ultima mobile.. I'm curious - In what way did you customise it and how much did it cost? :D
(Other than what's on the configurator I mean)

I'm ordering mine this evening..

Same ninja, we can suffer together :)

By customised I mean the upgrade options they've given, I didn't go for the default one. Upgraded to P8600, 4gb RAM, 320gb 7200rpm HDD, pretty standard really. I'm quite glad the more expensive upgrade options aren't available, e.g. P9500, as I may be tempted!

I'm getting a standard Ultima Mobile, except I'm not getting it with Blu-ray or an OS (so basically, as cheap as you can get it!).

I share both your pain too!

I went with P8600/250gb/2gb and no OS to keep the cost down. I am so so tempted to phone up and upgrade the ram to 4gb.

@matt1 - did the sales team mention how long it would take to get these built and despatched?

Only thing I'm tempted to upgrade is the HD (to a 7,200RPM).

The RAM I could probably do myself if it becomes necessary.

True but DDR3 is so expensive at the moment and I am sure it will remain that way until DDR3 is mainstream. Its about £140 for a 4gb kit so the £68 to upgrade it doesnt seem to bad.

I am also considering the 7200 but am holding off for an SSD when they reduce in price

No sorry. I'm guessing it depends where you are in the queue.

Ahh similar to mine except I only opted for 2gb ram.

I keep meaning to play with linux but never get around to it! I shall probably put XP on it as I have a spare pro license
