I hope that's the end of the delays, it's looking increasingly likely that I won't have mine before I go back to university.

Right just phoned the sales team. They were due in yesterday but havent arrived, he said they would be in by the end of the week. I am guessing they have been held up in customs or something.

I also asked how long they take to turn them around which is likely to be 12-24hours to customise them and then ship.

Top man. Thanks for doing that and posting here, it's to know what's going on a little bit.

Give me your details

Hi all,

We're very conscious that a number of you have been waiting a while and thanks for your patience.

The laptop barebones HAVE got delayed and were due in yesterday. Delivery is imminent but when you've got Customs involved it can unfortunately slip a couple of days.

On receipt we want to build each and test thoroughly first before we move to dispatching them to our customers.

However, I know a number of you guys have been waiting a while so if you'd mail me your order details I ensure that our forum folk get priority ;)

My email address is [email protected].

Looking forward to giving more news asap.

Cheers,

Rupert

Any reason why the price showing next to the laptops on the website changes a lot when you actually click on the laptop your looking to buy?

Even with all the options on default and ex vat???

Or have I missed something?

Only thing I've noticed is the BR drive isn't set to default on the high level laptop overview (with all the laptops) but is selected by default when you look at one particular laptop, so there is a £210.00 price difference there.

Thanks a lot Rupert, email sent. Its good of you guys to keep us updated.

I guessed they were held up in customs, by the sound of it you were not the only retailer to have this problem.

So summit is wrong?

no nothing is wrong. if you remove the BR drive it reverts back to the base price as shown on the front screen.

Edit - also notice the ETA has been updated to the 5/9/8

Which one would you recommend for someone who wants to;

Do work e.g. using office applications, visual basic & flash?
Surf the Net
Download
Listen to music

Just the basic stuff really.

@ TomElz - If you are not planning on gaming and want an ocuk barebone then the Primo Mobile looks a good choice. At the end of the day what you have listed there can be done by pretty much any modern laptop even an eeepc.

Do you not have any other requirements? ie portability/battery life/weight etc

@ Slackworth - Yeehaa...Photos tomorrow then ;)

No, I use my 360 to game nowadays so not really interested on playing on the PC.

Tbh would I be best of just buying a tower rather than a laptop or will they probably end up about the same price anyway?

You could build a tower for about £200 if its just basic use. Or you could buy a bsic laptop for about £300. It depends if you need the mobility.

I have a tower for gaming and a laptop for when on the go/LANs. I couldnt live without the laptop (hence having such a hard time waiting for the Ultima Mobile having sold my XPS)

Mail sent to RTB. Hopefully can get mine delivered before i have to bundle myself off to uni in 10 days time :)

As always the commitment to the forum members is awesome from OCUK!

Couldn't wait so I bought a Dell 1535 for £380. Arrived today and its a lovely piece of kit I must say! For the price and specs and delivery time theyve done really well. Hopefully overclockers can rival these in the near future once they get things moving :)

Hehe, me too.

Where are you off to out of interest?

Also, can anyone tell me exactly what difference specwise and performancewise there is between the 9800M GT, 9800M GTX and 9800M GTS?
