Don't use base defenses initially
Capture tiberium towers asap
Send rig upto northern tiberium field secured with some units
2 tiberium refinerys at each field and about 6 harvesters
Build extra construction line jobby asap
Don't try and hold the middle its a waste
Use infantry! A big problem I had was underestimating them

Can't exactly remember build order as it was yesterday but something like:

Tib Refinery
Power Plant
Barracks -> 2 Engineers,
Warfactory ->Harvestor ->couple tanks
Surveyor
Extra crane
Tib factory north field
Tib factory main base
War factory north field
Tech centre etc

Yeah I pretty much been doing that but the endless scorpian tanks are just too much to defend against.

I found some videos here of a couple of guys beating brutal...including an engineer rush :p

Also not that I ever do but if you garrison the structures a lot don't waste yer time, brutal will just flame thrower you out.
I haven't tried brutal, but normally snipers kill the flame guys before they get close enough on medium. :)

I've only read the first 20 pages so apologies in advance if this is a repost :)

I had problems getting it to run under Vista x64 Business Edition - the error was "d3dx9_29.dll" not found

If this is your error, here's how to fix it:

1) Download the file from here (it's free)
2) Extract the archive
3) Copy the dll into your Windows\system directory

That's it! Enjoy!

"Click the race selection tab, but do not select any. Move your mouse over the Nod selection and at the same time press N and click the mouse. It may take a few tries but it does work!"
actually its much easier than that: click on the dropdown box, click on "nod", press "n" --no ubertiming needed, just click then press afterwards.

:)

Does anyone think the "turtle", "steamroller" and other modes actually work?
They can be selected in the same way as you select Nod, but on turtle they attacked with aircraft which didn't seem very turtle like. :D
turtle doesnt mean "never attack me" --its more a base defense over attack.

Right I wanted to win against a Brutal team, so made sure I couldnt lose

I give you, the army that lead me to victory, surprisingly enough :p

You ever heard of Overkill ?

Wouldn't like to be on the receiving end of that lol

Omg what a game! As soon as i came back to windows, rush off to Amazon to pre-order :p
For the first time in a long time i wish i had a high-spec PC, my laptop can just about handle settings on medium, but only just.

I love how they've used some sound effects off the original, when an infantry unit is killed, see if you can hear it :p
Also how the music is the same style as the original, the FMVs....i could go on.

But of course, best thing is Sawyer's in it :D

Overkill? No such thing :p

And yeah, I dont think any amount of turrets is going to stop an army of that size

There is no such thing as overkill in cnc

if you want it doing properly

Spawn hundreds of one unit

BAM

Please can you post a direct thread link?

Would really like to see this video...

Yep definitely!

Hopefully the EA site is a little quicker now though or there's a better server - I only got about 15-20kb/s on average so the download took some time!

Those pod turret things for Nod are amazing in the early parts of the game, just alternate laser and shredder and nothing will get through until they get the heavy tanks.
