Work?
4km ( 3 ish miles), car, 7-30 minutes depending on traffic.
Used to cycle before having a car, that way it took 12-20 minutes depending how fast I cycled and traffic lights.
On my mums moped it took anywhere between 10 and 15 mins depending on traffic lights.
Uni:
14 kilometers, 8 and a half miles.
18-60 minutes by car depending on traffic ( about 35 minutes usually when in the afternoon during medium traffic) ( when I don't have to stay at uni for longer than 4 hours, as it's 1.50€ per hour parking there).
45 ish minutes by bus and subway/fast light rail combined ( when I have to pay for parking for longer than 4 hours or during early morning hours when you really don't want to be driving in the *****y traffic, I hate public transport though, but for me it's free).
30 ish minutes by car and subway combined ( drive to the station rather than taking the bus). ( barely ever do this, as it means leaving the car at a station for hours and it still isn't free ( petrol) unlike the bus+subway option).
