Someone should apologise and then all of this stuff should be removed. More or less.
Oh, and a proper sticky added.
Completely agree....
You can really tell this is the gaming forum....
I know plenty of people won't agree with the following, and fair enough, I understand that you don't, but in my eyes:
A mod made a pretty big screw up... and it got out of hand...
Fair enough, there was a sense of abuse of power and overreaction by some of the mods.
In my opinion plenty of members on the forum over reacted to the over reaction.
The mods did what they believed was correct at keeping the boards in check - whether it was out of order or not is another question - so in their minds they were acting responsibly, and when heavily criticised, other mods stepped in as support, and when criticised they perhaps snapped a little bit. Thing is, to be honest, how many of you wouldn't jump in to defend a friend - whether right or wrong... and how many would react harshly under criticism.
Now as far as I'm aware, (I may be wrong) this is the only incident where there has been such an issue... As such, it's a first offence... it's hardly murder... All we really need is the mods to sit down and make a sensible and logical decision on what to do about rules on competitors - and sticky it. Clarifying things like Steam along the way. Along with that we could do with a short concise apology.
But there is no need to take the guys modship away, he did what he thought was right... everybody makes mistakes...
