Competitors - a clarification

The thing about all this that is baffling is that some mods seemingly don't realise that they are interacting with past and future customers. I wouldn't dream of saying anything insulting or even anything that could be construed as condescending or threatening to customers. Whatever the amount of sales they represent, it's just madness.

A mod can call me a vagina every time I post if they like, I'll still buy what I want from the cheapest place with reasonable service that I can find it.

Please stop assuming that people that don't entirely agree with you:

1. Don't know the facts
2. Are just brown nosing.

It's insulting and naive.

Sorry you feel that way, I'm not assuming either of them though. It wasn't aimed at anyone with a differing opinion to me, but some people in this thread clearly haven't read the threads and are just posting based on hearsay.

The mods have accepted that there were massive issues, so I find it hard to comprehend how these people disagree with that.

Is it possible to make people mods of some forums and not others?

If so perhaps all these staff 'mods' should only have admin access in the latest deals thread.

See, this is what you are not getting.

You want a decent service.

The Don in question is an OCuK staff member, if you qualify his actions as appropriate then you also accept that, the returns dept. FOR EXAMPLE could also behave in such a manner on the forums on a returns related query.

Your posts scream of "IT DOES NOT AFFECT ME (Buying outside of PC Games) SO THEREFORE IT DOES NOT MATTER"

My entire point is that if said Don was not Games employed but Returns employed you would seemingly have an issue with it because you have dictated that you want good prices and SERVICE. The SERVICE illustrated by an OcUK employee was shocking. It has affected customers in this area of the shop.

Anyway i'm going to stop now as there is no point arguing amongst ourselfs, we all have our different beliefs and tempers are still high. I don't wish to fall out with any friends just because of one bloke or two for some..

I await and i hope action will take place against Valkia

Back later!

don't kid yourself bro, you'll be waiting a long time, possibly until hell freezes over ?

Anyway, I do not care what the outcome of this is in the grand scheme of things as long as the Don in question is dealt with as OcUK see fit. If not at all then that's their prerogative.

All I know is as a result I will not purchase games titles from OcUK. I do not trust the staff member who is involved with this aprt of the shop, not just for their actions on the forum but for obtaining my forum registered e-mail address and sending mail directly to it outside of the forum systems. Arguing directly in such a manner is not "Forum notifications from administrators"

If the mails really were that un-professional then surely there would have to be follow up with some kind of disciplinary action, if not then can we really trust any of our details with the company period ?

i wouldnt judge a company by one persons actions, yes its the company reputation that said person is working for however mistakes get made in nearly every business, some procedurally and some with mistakes in judgement, or in this case a big judgement call, however i would still buy from here, just maybe not have involvement with Val.

Does OCUK have a commissons based payment structure, i.e. a percentage related to sales volume or performance? None of my business I know so no problem if you tell me to get lost, just curious about it.

Only if they'd ****ed up my return. The service expected of a PC games-related employee is to simply hand me my parcel once I've decided to buy from them. I just don't see how Valkia's actions have affected the service of the PC games department.

All I know is as a result I will not purchase games titles from OcUK.

Be honest, you never would have anyway. Nothing has changed in the 'service' offered to PC gamers by OcUK in that regard. Nobody has, does, or will buy games from OcUK (unless the price is good or it's bundled), hence me saying it doesn't really affect me or anyone else.

That's how Robbie G rolls from my experience of him.

But I'm saying it doesn't really affect anyone, not just me, so your observation of my traits or not, doesn't really apply here.

Now let's just have a cup of tea and wait for this to all blow over

Just thinking how Saint Steve of Jobs might respond to this sort of thing :

Just don't post about things that Overclockers sells

Not a big deal

Another point of argument. You're allowed to talk about Apple, Dell, Acer, Samsung, HP and others despite them selling computer hardware.

You do realise he is the "OcUK Games Purchaser" right? You would buy from this person and feel that the PC games section is unaffected, at least image wise, as a result?

Personally yes, as all I care about is price and service. If (IF) he ships me the right game at the right price, I couldn't care less if he's trodden on the toes of a few butthurt pre-pubescents.

However I totally respect that some people feel differently, I'm just saying how I feel about the whole thing.

but some, not all, dont provide every piece of hardware that OCUK sell, i would class them more as a supplier than a shop as i hardly every buy direct from manufacturer as i normally buy a few items not just one item

Pointless to go on with this thread, all that will happen is he gets a slap on the wrists and gets told to shut up for a while in the PC games forum until it blows over.

I don't know what people expect to happen. Also, no I'm not defending what happened, because it was **** tarded, but I'm realistic, nothing will happen, even if OcUK tell you it did.

Personally I'll keep posting deals until OcUK get a decent selection of games at a decent price, currently neither of those is fulfilled so they can lump it.

It doesn't matter, Dell sell computers, monitors and other things, so do OcUK, they are a competitor according to OcUK's past examples of what competitors are. The competitor rule is all about the possibility of sales being "taken away" from OcUK. All the companies I listed are what you'd define as "competitors".
