Jim goes on about accountability and yet just sweeps threats to Ryan family, including pictures of his house, under the carpet. Not good at all.

The first video made some very good points, Ryan made a reply and Jim didn't like it. It's as bad as an argument between two of us on here, but on a bigger stage.
I definitely don't like the threats angle though. All Jim had to say to his fans was, don't do anything stupid, that would have covered him, but no he makes a point about takeing Ryan's reply as a threat.

P's I do hope nobody actually gets hurt over their little spat though.

Jim took it down as soon as Ryan complained about threats, its back up now and we don't know whats gone on since then, certainly Ryan doesn't want that on the Internet and claims of it causing threats to his family is a good way to make it go away, perhaps Jim just isn't stupid and made his own investigations on that in the time he took it down.

Maybe you should have told Jim's fans not to do anything stupid? What did "Jims fans" do BTW? I had a fan do something stupid last night come to think of it.

We do have a lot of **** poor tech journalists and something needs to be said. I've PSML a few times reading crap presented as a review.

Ryan Shrout complained Google Earth screen shoots of his house had been sent to him, its pretty easy to verify something like that, its also a very serious crime, all you need to get the police involved is to have the Emails forwarded to them.

I'm skeptical that actually happened.

It's not good if it's true but in his reply Ryan was quick to mention this in the post he put on Reddit and to me it just smacked of someone trying to deflect attention away from themselves and on to others and to be fair he's brought this attention upon himself.

He did say that when he took the video down. I disagree with Jim that the comments were a veiled threat though.

Anywho... i watched Jims follow up video.

Ryan changed the title of the Free_Sync video while leaving the actual "Free-Sync vs G-Sync Ghosting comparison" in the title, obviously that is the part that suggests to the viewer before the viewer had seen the video that Free-Sync has an issue with Ghosting, which Ryan Shrout knows it doesn't and is in fact a problem with the particular screen he used, not Free-Sync, again Ryan knows this, so why after being forced to go back to it did he leave that critical contention in place?

Either he is a shilling anti AMD troll or he has been paid by nVidia for the video as it is and cannot make any actual changes to it.

This is the actual video, it already had a greater dislike to like ratio but if you're not happy with this really shady shenanigans dislike bomb it, the revenue he gets from his channel is dependent on many aspects of it, one of them is an overall like to dislike ratio, if advertisers see that he has a high dislike to like ratio they are less likely to advertise with him.

If you dislike what he is doing, dislike it.

At the end of the day it's all gravy.
I cannot view pcper the sane as I did before, which is a shame as I enjoyed the podcasts, mainly for the interaction between the guys not necessarily for the review content, but even that has changed now this has all come to light.

If Ryan gets a brick though his window with a note on it saying Jim told us to do it, then that is why Jim should make it clear that he doesn't want anyone to do anything stupid, so he is not accountable for it.
You only have to look back in the thread to see how people where taking his first video as reason to hate on Ryan. It would cost Jim nothing but cover him just in case it does all blow up in his face.

Agreed, Jim does have a responsibility to make it absolutely clear to his followers that he does NOT condone any sort of threats or personal attacks against Rayan in any way shape or form, that is not on.

I do think Jim has been clear about that but it cannot be emphasized enough.
