i've been told on XS that my phase unit shouldnt need modding for 775 so this should be cool

aahhh the hell with it. just ordered extreme edition chip. figured that with the cost of 2GBs RAM needed to get 500mhz with a 6600, i might as well get cheapo 2gb and the extreme version with an unlocked multi

still havent decided on the RAM tho. will buy that along with the bad axe me tinks

looking forward to this now

any advice on the RAM to go with the x6800?

GSkill HZ 6400 2gb, same stuff as the 8000 basically.

You know that you don't have to spend that much to get DDR1000, these sticks will do it: G.Skill 2GB DDR2 HZ PC2-6400 (2x1GB) CAS4 Dual Channel Kit (F2-6400PHU2-2GBHZ) (MY-013-GS).

No, what it means is "buy a cheaper CPU (E6600) and overclock on the FSB" Do yoou really want to spend £775 on a CPU? Especially as that RAM and CPU comes to about £415. £360 is very nice, you want to keep it in your pocket/give it to me.

Yeah, if I were you I'd seriously consider cancelling and ordering an E6600 or even E6700 if you're using that phase unit.
