It seems strange that they would have a 'very large quantity' of the X6800s.

Yeah because... I would have presumed they ordered all the different CPUs at the same time, instead of the X6800 ONLY :confused:

. Anyway, can't blame em for selling the most expensive ones first!

Also due to the fact that not that many people are looking to spend that much - although I could be wrong. I suppose it depends what a very large quantity means (e.g. a large quantity compared to how many they are likely to sell).

As for the webnote, you may have to wait till tommorow for a reply

so... if i pre-order the conroe with other stuff.. will it come with the conroe on the 24th?
plus are you going to send it on the 24th or will it arive at my door on the 24th?

Just got a reply and its a generic response i'm afraid...

"Thank you for your web note all Conroe chips will be released between the dates of the 14th to the 24th."

I asked for the date of arrival of stock of E6600 but it went unanswered...

At least there should be plenty of reviews to read over the weekend as once the NDA is lifted the review sites can start publishing.

Yeah that's true

14th here we come! Hopefully the reviews will have retail chips instead of ES, so we can see the overclocking potential of them. People are already getting stressed about that
