Hope your joking mate any hotter and that thing will melt.....that's got to be the the highest core temp i've seen lol.

I figure during 24/7 use it will be nowhere near that so shoudln't be a problem ? If it eventually dies I'll just get a Quad Core !

No it won't get that high....ideal temp should be 60 or below at load so just keep an eye on it....maybe you should try and reseat it....maybe just bad contact. ;)

since that screenie I have upped it to 3.5GHz and tightened timings to 4-4-4-13. Running Orthos at present and Core Temp is showing 79 degrees...... getting toastier !

got the Tuniq Tower running at 1,500 rpm which is about where the noise starts getting annoying.

Yes the higher the o/c the hotter it will get....you might be one of the first to let us all know what temp these chips die at.lol :D

for the records, 24/7 stable DS4 air cooled by ultra120, ballistix 5400 @4-4-4-8 2.2V

It really amazes me the overclock of these 6300's.

Bang for buck goodness. :D

Really gonna have to get one of these. :)

Vocch + Japp74 .. thats nowt :p

When priming daul core my E6600 was hitting 74 @ 3.5ghz stock volts and it didnt seem to mind !
Mind you, I believe my mobo has way off temp reporting ;) (EVGA Nforce 680i)

No,

On mine it gives accurate temps.

speedfan etc...are 10c more!

Odd , it shows similar to ntune for me, I can sit in the bios for a while and cpu temp settles around 38, system 34 and mcp 44, yet ntune tells me on idle my system is 44 and cpu is 51 !
Having had the HSF off and reseated 3 times (and thats a pain with the Tornado lol), I am pretty sure that the bios is about right and the others are telling me porkies ;)

Gee thanks, strange i'm about to order the same cpu/mobo/mem setup as you. :D

Is that prime stable @3.5GHz?

No as in not tested...as it requires more v's on both ram + cpu i'm happy to run @ 3.4ghz 24/7 . :)
