Core 9000 series

+1 people using a **** board makes them think they are all like it.
A decent board will have no issues.

Now you started excuses? When I wrote few months back that most Z370 boards won't be able to take the 9900K you made some pretty big driveling posts in this very discussion.

Don't even know why you are bandying words with that halfwit, he spouts whatever drivel suits him at the time. Just put him in ignore and move on.

Fact is the 390 boards will offer some features that 370 doesn't, and the 390 boards will be designed to run the top chips overclocked

Something that cannot be said about 370, as they were not designed with the 9900k in mind. Sure some of them might take a 9909k but I bet the 9900k chips will run best on the boards designed for them.

If you can afford it I'd go for it. It will be a very good step up for you from a 3770K. Just buy a very good motherboard ;)

Lol yeah I’d be tempted to see if there are any mono blocks coming and go for something I can watercool. The 3770k is still going strong at 5Ghz. It’ll be a sad day when I retire it :(

I wouldn't hold breath Z390 be better than Z370. It seems Z390 boards drop 10gbps ethernet support and now 2.5Ghz is the new norm. (at least Asrock lineup are all 2.5Gbps).

It saves 8 pci-e lanes in the process of course, but X470 & Z370 boards still coming with 10gbps ethernet connection...

Until you see that the z370 boards are the same damn thing as the z390......
Minor differences regarding networking and audio.

When are is this 9 series going to drop?

I'm due an upgrade and would rather go INTEL if the price isn't ridiculous.

Tomorrow, and available to buy if and when places have stock from the 18th (ish).

The prices will be ridiculous, so enjoy it. :)

Crap.. lol. What are my options away from this? TBH I'd be happy with an 8700k FFS. :(

I still don't quite understand this range of CPUs. is the 9900k the one to get? No one seems to talk about the 9700k

Am I the only person who is utterly sick of the price whine in almost every post? We get it, hardware is expensive!

I'm still interested in the spec and performance, so looking forward to concrete details from Intel.

It's not though. Just these new chips are (it seems) and, due to Intel's 14nm shortage, Intel's older chips are now too. Everything is relative and a month or two ago Intel's chips were £100+ cheaper.

Oh, and nVidia's new GPUs are too. ;)

Yeah totally sick of it. Either buy or don't buy.... No need to justify your decision here about your purchase..... Or constantly moan about prices..

Everyone is also forever waiting......

I'm not basing any purchase on what the price was, I'll base it on what the price is.

Absolutely. I just need to get a look at the 9700/9900k spec sheet, and then I'll get stuck into a new Intel/AMD* build. :)

Who says 10gbe is dropped? According to the specs for the Z390 Taichi Ultimate it has 10gbe, I believe the board one down from Taichi ultimate has 2.5

What would be your AMD build? (CPU/mobo/RAM)?>

I'm glad you've both spoken up about this. As it is getting trying listening to people go on about the pricing of Intel.
