Core 9000 series

Agree 100%. All I see is the moaning. If u don’t want to pay don’t get it.

By the sound of it most won't be ;) Luckily we're in a free market economy and free to moan about high prices. Who's happy for people to pay over the odds? The manufacturers, the resellers and anyone "considerably richer than yo", some may not get that reference ;)

If the chips hit at MSRP = no moaning, but that is not going to be the case for the most part. I mean I am happy for anyone to pay over the odds for something if they feel it is worth it, hell I used to sell iPhones on release day hand over fist for massive profit above MSRP to idiots that had to have them first. The moaning is stemming from the huge increase in base cost above MSRP, to the point where something like an i3-8100 is now £200 on OCUK which is almost 100% more expensive that it was a couple of months ago, or the 65% increase in cost of the bog standard 8700K, which is now £469, rather than the £280-290 a few months back. If you don't think that's a bad thing then great for you, but it does not apply to the majority of people, read that again, majority, not minority - where people actually care about getting ripped off for a planned purchase.

Back on topic, $529.99 (8c/16t 3.6GHz base -5.0GHZ boost) is the US price for the 9900K, $399 for the 9700K (8c/8t 3.6GHz base -4.9GHZ boost), and $279.99 for the 9600K (6c/6t 3.7GHz base -4.7GHZ boost) - those are MSRP, and official base and boost clocks. :)

I'm amazed OcUK staff don't want to see discussions on pricing - surely this is partly market research? If they can clearly see consumers aren't happy about prices, surely that should influence their decision on how much stock to buy? Otherwise they'll end up purchasing a huge amount of stock at a high price that no one wants, and that to me sounds like bad business. Isn't the point of choosing not to buy, so that goes up the chain and back to intel so they can see there is no market for what they have at a specific price point? And hence they either lower it, or change what they're producing.

OCUK will sell tons of these Intel CPU's regardless of price, some people will opt for the pre binned huge markup ones, just to have the absolute best, 8Pack will bin tons himself for his Halo class builds, and also will probably bin some for personal use when doing OC'ing comps etc.

OCUK sell a lot of products to businesses who value every ounce of performance and do not mind paying the premium.

However for the common gamer, 8Pack is actually doing people a favour by saying dont get your hopes up, there is probably going to be negligible differences and given the price increase it doesnt really make much sense to go for the higher priced product that is going to not offer much for the additional cost. If anything its good business, as they are being honest with their customer base.

Also with releases most of the time there is a set quantity that resellers will receive to be sold at suggested MSRP, so if you get in first and get lucky often you can pick the products up at well below what they will be in the coming weeks. Often times these are limited in quantity to users as well, like max 1 per customer etc.

As an earlier poster has said though, dont expect huge gains from this series, its basically CFL with more cores bolted on, i doubt there will be much if any performance increase on the actual core.

Seems they have a bit of a mark up, Z370 Hero = £240 here, Z390 Hero £280? seems another £40 ontop and we all know OCUK is not the cheapest.

Also the Gigabyte mobos not sure which the Master is the replacement for, if the Master is a tier higher than the z370 Gaming 7 then thats understandble, but if its the replacement then its been pushed up in price quite a bit as well.

I can see a Hero at 260 and 272 but little spec info so no idea if they are exactly the same as the 370 boards. In stock as well already.

I dont think the page is correct, the Wifi version of the Hero is cheaper than the non wifi version, surely that should be the other way around? might pre-order the Cheaper Wifi version just because lol.

Yep weird. Seems they have had a lot of different motherboards in stock as well today but all gone.

seems aorus/Gigabyte boards are all 4+8 CPU pin and Master is 8+8

Pricing ranging from £144 to £290 for them

Just seen Z390 prices on rainforest, they have quite a few varieties listed for pre-order and the prices make grim reading.

because Z370 isn't EOL so these will replace higher end Z370 boards and leave mid range, guessing why they have extra 4 pins in he Gigabyte boards compared to z370 flagships not having them

But but everyone says you dont need a Z390 board to run a 9900K???!! well ok you dont need one, but surely the Z370 will allow you to OC a 9900k to its maximum potential right... right????
