Core 9000 series

No all is coming from AMD is some more threadrippers, but not faster ones, just new models to fill the line up.
On Ryzen 2700X is current fastest and will be for remainder of year I believe, at £299 they are a great CPU.

Is it 29th the 2920X? Would it be priced similarly to 2950X so around £600?

Would there by any discounts especially on X399M taichi? :)

At current intel pricing I don't think AMD need to do anything, as they're half the price for around 15% less performance - if Intel released a chip at the 350 mark with the same performance as 9900k, then I would have expected AMD to come out with a 2800x

Don't forget the 1800X at £229.99, when we did those at £199.99 was really an insane deal for an 8/16 CPU.

They sure are great value Gibbo just seen a rumour of a 2800x :)

Yes rumoured, I checked with AMD, they said nothing is coming just more rippers, of course they could not be been totally honest. But if they were smart they would do a 2800X even if it meant shipping with an AIO like they did once before in the past as that would be an epic idea, basically pre-binned 2700X, call it 2800X increase the boost clock and ship with AIO to keep it cool and slap on $150 for privilege, they would sell every single one. :)

Retail and OEM is identical, the CPU is no different, just retail comes in a box, has a longer warranty and cost a few dollars extra, but we are yet to see or be offered any retail product. I only see retail in stock at one grey disti, they had 5pc, they wanted over £600 exc VAT at which point we refused to take those, expect to see them on ebay around £800-£900.

P.S. Order by 3pm to guarantee next day delivery on items showing in stock.

Thank you !

Yeah you can guarantee this, 2800X at 4.5 guarantee will fly.
Similarly if the dynamic mode works with dual channel RAM configuration on Threadripper.
It will sell like hotcakes because it would remove ram as limitation to move to the platform, and the people will upgrade to quad channel.

2920X pricing is £483 + VAT, we have several on order as a revision to a project I worked on early in the year has transitioned from the 7900X/X299 platform to the TR4 platform. Not sure what the final retail pricing will be and the stock date, but ours are due on 2/11/18 according to the stock system. It's also the YD292XA8UC9AF tray variant, not retail box.

Yeah I agree, if they do a 2800x at 4.5GHz I've said this a while back in this same thread - it would be a no brainer - currently the line up between the 2, still has me sitting on the fence, but a 2800x from AMD for not much more money would definitely swing things their way. Equally intel could swing things for me their way by simply dropping the price, or ensuring enough supply that retailers can sell at RRP.

It would be great if in UK was priced £580, but £600 is acceptable also.
Personally want for research into AI with 2-3 Vega 64s or FE. And see how gaming goes from time to time to completely replace the two PC solution.

I could just watch the Intel stock price and when I see it plummet I'll know the reviews are out. :p:p

lmfao, I am really looking forward to the reviews tbh. I've got a distinct feeling that most reviewers will say it's not worth buying, and it won't be much of an increase over the previous chips... Equally it'll be a nice surprise if it were 50% faster, at least that would go some way to justifying the cost.

Same as me pretty much. You've got the slight defecit on AMD side that puts me off then the price of Intel that puts me off.

Exactly, the 2700x whilst nice, doesn't excite me enough to warrant an upgrade of my OC'd 2600k (it might do though, as I do have the itch to upgrade), but the 9900k whilst it being what I'd want performance wise (most likely, as we've not seen reviews yet), is just too high a price.

It's such a shame really that moores law seems to no longer be relevant - I kind of miss the days of doubling CPU power every year, it was exciting times, and I did tend to keep up with it.

It's a great platform, and I love having the 64 PCI-E lanes to design systems with, as it allows so much more flexibility than the 44 with X299. In fact coming from using the X99 platform with PLX chips the X299 was a downgrade, might have some Epyc stuff heading my way soon, if I can cram all the stuff needed into one board/case. :)
