70mil wider wouldn't have been a problem.

For some people maybe. Others might not be worried about the bays being sideways and would rather save 70mm.

I'm undecided about a fan controller, so not really sure if it'll bother me.
Isn't there an Aquero that is basically internal (or at least doesn't have a display)?
Really it's only controllers with a display that will look strange.

The Corsair Link Cooling and Lighting Kit would be perfect for this case, but one problem, No 3.5 hdd bay. Just hot swap? I wonder if this corsair link box would move around if I put it in the back of the case?

If it doesn't move this would solve the fan controller issue. Then I wouldn't need a fan controller in the front bay. Frees it up for something else.

So I need to know is....Would it be ok for the Corsair Link Cooling Kit to be in the back of this case? The box wont move around would it? Hope someone that has the corsair link box can answer this?

Thanks

Thing is about having the bays side ways it alienates so much, with fan controllers and bay res.

Rich I know previously you thought I was very negative however with this its nice to see you waited for an honest answer so you wasn't making false promises.

Is it me or do Corsair never get case launches right?

No it's not you, they really do chuff up every release.

as i said early on the dvd drives should have been the right way. awesome looking case but technical fail on this.

The main unit fits in a 3.5" bay, but the actual lighting and fan controller just sit around in your case anyway. So, I don't think it would make much difference but you could always cable tie it in place or use double sided sticky tape :)

That's a idea. Thanks mate:D

No Problem :)

What I'm interested in is if you have 3.5" drives or the cooling node and get them to face pointing upwards with one side, where the screw holes go, against the mesh/venting at the rear of the case and see if you could screw them against the mesh. With a couple of rubber washers for noise dampening. Could help solve the 3.5" bay issues. Would be nice if corsair had put a bay in instead :(

Hope you all enjoy this case. Mine is now completed and I'm really very pleased. I'm not finding the sideways DVD bays a problem personally.

Check the Builds thread and please add details of your builds to it next week :)

your normal mechanical drive sticks out a little a black stealth cover would be awesome on top

That is a good idea, although I had not really noticed it myself. The case theme is Black with silver fittings and red water, so really its the HD label that looks out of place rather than the drive itself.

Need WD to do a 3TB raptor with the clear top, they were black.

Would have preferred there wasn't any drive bays and the space was used for 3.5" HDDs instead.

If you look closely at the front of my build you will see exactly that... I have a Blu-Ray drive and a hot swap bay... mine is for 4 laptop drives but you could easily do the same for 3.5" drives, although you should allow for better cooling on desktop drives.
