Corsair Carbide Air 540 Builds

Hey guys, does anyone know the best combination of radiators to use?

I have an XSPC in the top and an EK 360 at the front, but with this combination I cannot use the EK radiator with ports at the top, and it won't fit a fan at the top either due to the length of the XSPC radiator as seen below.

Also, I cannot use the bottom hard drive bay due to the compression fittings about 1mm away from the hdd mount location, so it's not ideal either.

Here's a picture for reference - I've seen some builds with Alphacool radiators where they've managed to get all fans and all radiators in neatly?

If I can find 2 radiators that work well together (perhaps even the 240 that allows me to push+pull), then I'll ditch these 2 in favour of new radiators.

Lol, add a rad mount behind the motherboard you say...hmm...

If it also had a window on this side of the case it would look just like mine :p (MMods U2-UFO)

Just got myself one of these cases (will get pictures uploaded).

Will eventually do water cooling of some type inside it as that was my plan when I bought it. But I must say that I'm seriously impressed by the temps of my air cooling (Silver Arrow SB-E) with this case.

Overall, well impressed :)

Also, does anyone suffer with dust problems due to the lack of dust filters on the top, bottom and PSU?

Thanks.

So it seems regardless of how i put the dust filter at the front, I cant seem to get fans and a dust filter on the front of the case - this is with a DMCIflex dust filter rather than the default one - as that one definitely wont fit.

Anyone got any ideas? Really dont fancy having a dusty case after seeing how much dust my filter stops..

The standard magnetic filter is just fine but it relies on you mounting the fans (and red if you have one) inside od the case. If you mount externally the filter wont fit as far as I know at least...

Im getting this case today (14.50-15.50 delivery estimate :)) after having my heart set on the Bitfenix Prodigy and I must say all of these builds are just amazing regardless of whether its water or air. I just wish I did a bit of research regarding the supplied fans, if I knew they were going to be loud I would have bought the mentioned af140's along with it.

No biggie, maybe persuade the gf to get an array of little goodies to compliment the aesthetics of the case as an early xmas present (fingers crossed) oh and 8gb of Avexir Blue Series ram (fingers and toes crossed and a lot of groveling).

Ok well that's all the parts fitted and i'm thoroughly impressed. CPU idling at 16-19c (down from 25c) and GPU at 26c (down from 33c), not tried anything heavy yet but DAMN THESE FANS ARE LOUD. Ordering replacements on Monday but very happy and worth every penny.

Those temps seem to be unreal! Running my 3770K and 7950 stock idles at 35C and 33C. H100i cooling the CPU with GT's and a windforce cooler on the 7950. Are these just terrible temps or do you have godly temps? Are you running all stock fans?

Hmmmm little update, its now idling at 22c-24c and gpu at 28c. Just running what came with the case, maximum temps are only down a few degrees, example gpu 65c now 61c on 3dmark.

Previous case was Xigmatek Asgard.

Really are impressive temps.
I run GT's throughout the case and my GPU maxes at 65C.
What I find especially weird is that, i once turned off the front 3 fans and back fan and GPU temps didnt change what so ever.....

This is my temps according to coretemp, HWmonitor and gpu-z. As i've mentioned i've done no bout of long gaming at all but overall i'm more than impressed with this case except for the fans. I'm pretty shocked at how loud they are.

In my previous case I removed my 2 120mm top fans and 120mm bottom fan so I was just using a front 120mm and rear 120mm fan and temps really didn't change much at all, gpu sat at 65c regardless.

The stock fans that came with my 540 are starting to annoy me so I am considering replacing all of them (and maybe the 2 that came with my h100i). Temps are fine but the front fans are making a kind of rattling sound, it stops if I push the back of them slightly.

Any recommendations for which fans to replace them with? Preferably quiet but powerful. I'm willing to switch to 3x 120mm on the front if needed.

After the 20th of this month there will be a 4770k in there, will be OC'd as much as I can get it to (hopefully 4.5/4.6).

In the new year I'll be upgrading graphics card, 280X/290 most likely).

Need:
2x120mm or 4x120mm fans for h100i (only using 2 at the moment).
1x140mm to replace rear fan.
2x140mm or 3x120mm to replace front 2 fans.

I'm getting this from the top of the case. I have the 140mm fans at the top and they vibrate the metal mesh, it makes a really loud high pitched whine, I have to fiddle about with the thumb screws on the back of the case to get it to stop.
