Corsair Carbide Air 540 Builds

Air cooling, at the minute i'm using an old 500gb Sata II drive (which i'll replace eventually with a WD Black) and a 60gb Intel SSD, hopefully i'll get another SSD one day.

The case is designed for air cooling (obviously :D ) so you won't have the challenges that water cooling provides. If you have 2 drives they will sit in the hot swap bays and be kept nice and cool there.

As I say, it's a personal decision. Personally, I think it's a great case.

Can someone with a 540 measure between the bottom front 3 fans and the floor in the case please, would like to know what the headroom is there.

Thanks

this thread is making me regret buying a nzxt phantom. I really like the look of this case with a custom watercooling loop

Some useful measurements - no floor to fans measurements though.

45mm from the bottom of the fan, (3*120mm fans in mine)

The floor 'steps up' behind the fan though, so anything thicker than 18mm only has 38mm headroom

There seems to be a few people who have swapped out the stock 140mm fans for the Corsair AF140 'Quiet Edition' fans. If so, are they noticeably quieter at the same speeds?

Need advice on swapping fans on my 540 using a h100i and thinking of replacing stock fans with these : http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=FG-008-CS&groupid=701&catid=2331&subcat=4
and putting 3 of these to the front of case
http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=FG-005-CS&groupid=701&catid=2331&subcat=4
and this 140 as exhaust at back http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=FG-006-CS&groupid=701&catid=2331&subcat=1816
Would this make case cooler and quieter and can I control these through Asus AI Suite on my rampage extreme black even though they 4 pin?

and anyone using this as fan controller http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=BB-000-NX&tool=3

I use those fans. SP120's at 900 rpm, AF120's at 700 rpm. Case is silent and temps are fine.

They aren't 4 pin, they're 3 pin.

Has anyone successfully sprayed the mesh on the top and side? What did you have to do to do it?

Got a 540 on order (Amongst a tonne of other kit) and am looking to.. tweak.. The case a little.
