Corsair H50 Water Cooling Kit

The Blend test makes the temp vary when i run it on my 920 at 4Ghz the small FFT sections of the test make the cores quite a lot hotter then the large on some screen shots he takes a pic when prime is processing largeish FFT's so is running cooler then max temp shown in realtemp which was achieved when prime was processing a small FFT.

So that is why the temp fluctuates then, I didnt know that.

So blend test runs small ffts and large ffts and the small ffts make the cpu hotter than the large ffts.

So if you want to know what the maxxed out temps are you should run small ffts in prime95 and not blend is that right..?

I like OCCT and IBT, basically you can run it for a set time and it either passes the test or it doesn't. They both seem to add a couple of degrees. But the majority of people seem to only take prime95 seriously and anything else as second rate.

I was under the impression that the OCCT test was the better one until I joined this forum. Am I right or wrong?

Some people say they get higher temps with blend on the i7 because the memory controller is in the cpu but me personally i get slightly higher temps with small.

I personally use Occt normal, linpack in occt for max temps, 20+ runs on IBT max for stability, and rarely touch prime these days. Oh and a few hours of gaming too lol.

But yeh sadly to some if u can't post a screen shot of prime been running 12hours+ they will come back and say well its not stable lol.

I always used to use prime exclusively, blend/small fft 8 hours minimum, ibt is a handy tool for quick testing, though after running it ill still give prime a blast, ibt certainly does up the temps though compared to prime.

Simple question,

Does it come with the mountings for a Socket AM2+ CPU?

I would like to use it with my 7750? Also for future proofing does it include the mountings for AM3?

Cheers all.

Got sky HD multiroom, 3 pc's and 2 laptop's, 2 sportcars, 2 x plasma tv. Live in a big house (4 bedrooms). I probably had spend over £10,000 at ocuk for a year now. Too many cpu coolers and fans here. :) Going on holiday next year to Cyprus for 2 weeks with my family.

Have we really turned this thread into blabbering about how big your house is etc etc. Give the willy waving a break it won't do you any favours in a thread about a CPU Cooler. That isn't just aimed at you either. I thought this thread would be an interesting read given I am debating buying one of these but I cba to shift through all the bull**** to get to the crux of the good helpful results.

mine came with 1366 and 775 fittings only. But if you contact Corsair they will supply the AMD kit for the postage cost.

You can order the extra bracket for free and you just pay the postage from the makers of the product.

Just having a laugh is all. Chill.

The H50 is a good cooler if you are looking at cooling for anything up to and including a 4ghz OC. It will compete with the True, megahalems and Noctua aircoolers.
It takes up less space and is a lot lighter than the respective air coolers and is slightly cheaper when you factor in the added cost of fans and fan mounts for the aircoolers.
I find that my H50 in the system in my sig gives load temps of around 73-75c which seems fine. It's quiet and comes with a 2year quarantee. Corsair are a well known premium brand so should be safe with that.

It will not compete with custom watercooling solutions or massive overclocks like 4.4ghz or anything like that.

I like it and would expect anyone else running a cmparable rig will too

Hope this helps.
