Corsair H50 Water Cooling Kit

"1156 bracket should be in the corsair online store any day soon", seen this on other tech forum from a Corsair official. It is quite poor for a massive company like Corsair to delay something as simple as a holding bracket. Damages their reputation a little imo.

Hi guys right i just copy and paste this from corsair..

Hey guys, George here. I'm the PM for cooling products.

First let me say this:
The Socket LGA1156 Bracket will be on the website for purchasing by 10/12

Now I know that's about 2 weeks from now, and it might be much, much sooner, but that's the earliest date I can give comfortably. We were supposed to have this ready for you guys in August but we identified a manufacturing defect and had to delay the bracket until late September/early October in order to fix it. I really wanted to have support ready for the Lynnfield launch, but we stumbled there and that's my fault.

So now the good news - there's a new revision of the H50 with a new part number. CWCH50-1 which you guys should be able to identify. The -1 means that the new package will now include not only LGA775 and LGA1366, but also the LGA1156 and AMD AM2 and AM3 brackets. The bracket design has changed a bit but it still works fine and the increased compatibility should make it an easier product to use.

For those who already own an H50 and want to get the LGA1156 bracket for it, like I said, we'll have it available by the 12th. Chances are it'll be up next week, but I won't guarantee anything until the 12th.

Again - I'm sorry this took so long, completely my fault. I'm glad to see you guys are excited about the product, though.

looks to me tho thoose that already have this will have to pay for the bracket as he did not say it would be free...will have to wait and see

I'm buying an H50, and I want to use the push/pull fan setup. But, how would I mount the second fan? Do long enough screws come supplied? If not, where can I get some?

What am I looking for?

I'd also like to know that info. Plus I'd be using 2 noctua fans for push pull. Can anyone confirm the unit needs to have the ship logo upside down for better results, or is this hogwash?

you get 4 screws to mount the fan that comes with it, i just used 2 screws on that fan and 2 on another fan, not sure how others have done push/pull but the fans only really need 2 screws anyway

Fixing bolts - too small

Any idea what size fixings these are.

my supplied bolts are too small ( outer casing is a perspex window )

Not long enough to go into the radiator

Surely all the people on here with push pull configs must have updated the fixings from the supplied ones

nope bodged the ones that came with. My case is thick alu so needed to counter sink mounting screws enough that they would bite 2 threads into the rad. Wouldn't cost corsair much to add extra fixing hardware but then again the product peforms almost as good with one fan. Most of the 'proffessional' reviews i've seen clain only an extra few degrees for push pull.

before someone says it all counts your right, but only if you don't have enough to start with.....

in that regard the corsair is great :)

I believe the the 25mm fan fixing screw set from ****** works,I'm getting some on saturday to mount my second fan so will report back if its ok.
Sorry, didn't realise you couldn't post other electical component shops names on the forum,I do apologise, very sorry.

So, anyone from OCUK able to confirm when the CWCH50-1 kits will be in ?

Ok so we can all blame George for screwing up the worldwide release of the 1156 bracket for the H50.

Wonder if stuff like that goes on your record... :)

looks like the bracket is out now guys, someome brought a new h50 off a site and it shipped with the 1156 bracket its complety changed the bracket as well,so its just a matter of when new stock will be available now,i still think anyone who has already brought 1 will have to wait till the 12th tho for corsair to have them.

regarding screws for the fans...

as i mentioned to others earlier in the post you may already have some as many cases now come with a variety of screws.
you can use the the 4 included to attach front fan and then one side of the rear fan can be attached via 4 shorter screws m3.5 and then the back of that fan can be safetly attached to the back of the case using normal fan screws.

so far gaiden me and bulldog have found the corsair being postioned upside down helps by a few degrees maybe due to pressure difference i dont know.

i have 2 akasa apaches on mine in push/pull and have them attached to a akasa 3x pwm splitter which attaches to mainboard purely for rpm and temp while the fans are powered from a molex.
what i was wondering would it be better to use a proper pwm y cable straight to motherboard cpu fan header? not sure on the difference apart from one being molex powered and other mainboard powered?...

regards ...
