Corsair H50 Water Cooling Kit

with the mobo out it's really easy to fit. Stick the back plate to the board, part screw the monting ring into this then push h50 in , twist and tighten screws.

When I refit I may tighten the screw the minimum amount necesary when i mount the 'ring'. I'm not happy with the twist manouvre to lock the h50 in - I get a 6-8 degree difference across my 4 cores.

I have some questions about the H50:

- Does it fit into an Antec 902?

- Do I need to buy extra thermal compound, or is there some already pre-installed or does some come with the H50 but not yet applyed? If it's applyed how do I remove it?

It's pre-applied. From what I've read, it's fairly decent and most people just seem to leave it on.

I got mine earlier, but I can't fit it yet.

Right, so if I want to leave the pre-applyed compound on the H50, no thermal compound needs to be put on the CPU itself?

Tempted by one of these.

I have existing modifications to my case from previous watercooling setups (I used to have a CPU->GPU->GPU->NB loop), which include a 120mm blow hole in the top of the case which was used for the radiator and fan.

Would it be possible to mount the radiator / fan from the H50 to the top of a case?

That;s what i did - hence the larger fixing screws needed

hornyrhino :) suzuki driver by any chance?

those temps seem ok to me, as in there comparable with mine. I'm too tired to read through since I last posted. How is your h50 mounted?

just to clarify when you said they were okay comparable to you my temps were for stock 920 2.66 with turbo you have 4.0g in your sig?

i have tried the easytune6 overclock tool with my board as a basic o/c aid for now as its quick to use so as to experiment with temps....i had set it to 3.0g w/turbo+hyper and temps rose to cores idle= mid 40's ... cores load=mid 70's....then i tried setting it to 3.2g option w/turbo+hyper and temps were cpu=36c... cores idle= late 45-52c ... and cpu=56c and cores under load= 80-85c

i did notice that even though auto was set the cpu core was 1.33 at 3.0g and 1.38 at 3.2g....

im now thinking as most have 4.0g in good temps i need to remount as mine at 160x21 is approaching mid 80's using blend ..i hate this MIT thing just cant get my head round all the different setting :( i mean thos temps i got is with it all on auto just using the tool gigabyte provided.

i think im out of my depth here :(

I thought the same mate, stick with it. This was my first OC. Must have missed you were at stock, Iirc I idle mid 30's, hit mid 70's under prime / ibt. Your volts seem high mind imo. I'm at 1.2v for 4ghz and think with some tweaking I could go lower.

To save me reading through as I'm lazy post me an overview of your set up please?

edit# fail - just looked at your sig. I'd say something's not quite right..

i think ill try doing the o/c from the bios...give that a go and lower the voltage on the cpu....and no joy ill try a remount again.... shame really as im only looking to o/c to around 3.4 with turbo :D ...will do me fine but not if its in the 80's:(

i tried blowing out the rear and now it positioned on one of the 120 slots on the roof exhasting air with 2 other 120s next to it doing the same...its in push pull with 2 apache fans and pwm is switched off in bios

recap..

front fan 230mm=intake
side panel 4x fans 120=intake
rear fan 140mm=exhaust
roof H50 (2 apache push/pull) exhausting + 2 x 120mm fans exhausting air out roof

tried h50 as roof intake but temps were slightly higher when i was at my 2.66ghz setting

i think its the core thats too high which was set by the utility or it needs remounting... i used the line method as shown on AS5 website as i dont like doing the spread method due to risk of air and the TIM i use is very thick so its hard work getting/spreading thin.

may have to get out the old mx2 :( i miss the old days booting up a 939 board easy to use bios and chips that overclock nicely without all the drama :)

definetly something wrong as just seen a youtube video with Antec 1200 Case
...Corsair H50 using a Scythe Kaze on a Asus P6T Motherbord...

Intel I7 920 @4Ghz ( 191 x 21, 126250v)

his temps were 38-43 cores idle and when primed didnt go over 75c they averaged mid 60's so ill see how a remount goes and get back laterz :(

anyone know if they mistakenly didnt fill any of these H50 with fluid/liquid?? :D:D:D

just my luck that would be :D

hi m8, when you installed your h50 onto the inside roof what direction was it blowing the air? intake into case or exhausting out of roof?

cheers. :)

Intake blowing into the case over the radiator.

Originally this was another exhaust. But there are already 2 exhausts on the rear and i would rather pull in cold air from outisde the case than the hotter air rising from the gfx card.

Mine seems to "buzz"?

It's certainly not silent. Is it a problem?

It seems some buzz and some dont.I rma'ed mine to the place i bought it from and they said the "buzz was within spec".
I think thats rubbish as i can hear it over 7 x 12cm fans atm if there not on full rpm.

I mailed Corsair and told them about pervious rma on the unit and they said i could send to them.Only problem i have is the postage from Ireland to Corsair is 27 euro:mad:
