Corsair H50 Water Cooling Kit

I am now in a position where there is one screw i cannot remove at all as it has pushed all the way out of the back plate and just rotates when i try to remove the screw.

Exactly the same problem here. Glad I'm not the only one!

I've ordered a new mounting kit from Corsair - only had to pay postage of $5. Hopefully arriving Friday, so I'll see how it goes.

The 2nd set of screws are for the AMD back plate.

I cant understand this as the AMD backplate uses the very same threaded metal inserts as the Intel back plate. So you would have the very same problem if you used the thicker screws where the screws are too big to be fully screwed into the metal inserts. Now if you had an additional set metal inserts making 8 in total that would be a different matter. the inclusion of the thicker screws still remains a complete mystery to me and has cuased me no end of trouble.

Why would 4 extra screws cause you trouble?

I need to clarify. The extra screws are for the AMD backplate meaning that they are for the stock AMD backplate that is preinstalled on most AM2 and AM3 motherboards. The AMD backplate does not use the same screws as the Corsair backplate for AMD sockets.

Hi folks.

Another screw question, but about the screws for fitting the radiator. I'm going for the push - pull method and I will not accept using 2 screws on each fan so I need 4 extra screws for mounting.

I have spent most of today wondering around Sheffield Ironmongers and trade counters with one of the screws and no one had a match.

Can anyone tell me exactly what type I need or where I can get some from?

I'm really struggling with this.

Thanks.

If you read all the different instillation papers(Think there were 4 in my box plus the pamphlet) they tell you which screws are for which sockets. The thin screws were used on all but one socket if I remember correctly.

Have you even tried using two for each fan diagnonally, screwed tight that sucker won't go anywhere.

Well, my new case came and I got fed up of waiting for the new mounting kit to arrive from Corsair. No disrespect to them - they sent it straight away, but it's in the UPS circuit.

Long story short, I've managed to attach it, and am loading up drivers, etc. - it's a new i5 build. 23-26 across the cores idle at the mo, no o/c yet. Nice and quiet with 2 Apaches in push/pull.

Once everything's installed, it's Prime95 time!! Maybe have a crack at overclocking a the weekend. :D
