** CORSAIR LIQUID COOLING SOLUTIONS - CRAZIEST DEAL OF 2013 **

Official word from Corsair in the office today: "middle to end of the month"

The items are still in transit on the ship.

That's fine I'm happy to wait for my less than half price h100 :) Thanks for the update RJK

...In the meantime, I may be tempted to pick up a pair of H60s to strap onto my sli 670s. Iv'e always wanted to do "The Mod". Give me some free shipping and I'll order right now :D

Fitted my H60 yesterday. Waiting for my RAM to arrive and I'll fire her up. Super easy to fit and looked brand new in the box. There's a refurbished sticker on the side of the box and that's your only clue that this has been used before. Hopefully it won't cause me problems. All going well with it I'll pre-order a H80 for my main rig.

My H60 is acting weird, temps go up to 80c whilst playing games and i noticed some liquid type substance on one of the pipes by the pump, ive started a RMA but im worried that if i send it back that they wont find a problem as it could just be grease for the pipes and then ill have to pay for postage back :(

I changed my mind on the H80. Although I`ve read that leaks are rare, they can be expensive in terms of damaged components.

I understand that Corsair offer some sort of cover against component damage caused by a leak, but this warranty is limited when it comes to refurbed units. The thought of having to regularly check for leaks put me off in the end, not to mention reports of noisy fans when under high load. I think I'd have to invest in replacement fans to ensure quiet cooling.

If I get an H80, it'll be a brand new H80i. Comes with a 5 year warranty and the price premium over a refurb is worth it, IMHO.

My Gelid Tranquilo keeps my i5-2500K @ 4.6ghz cool enough, and is fairly quiet under full load (almost silent during normal use). It won't leak, and didn't cost much. Would a closed loop cooler get me a better overclock, and if it did, would it be good enough for me to notice ? I suppose a H80 looks a bit more funky though.

I think you would be more limited by the motherboard and the chip itself rather than temp. Let me put it this way...if overclocking to 4.80GHz require 1.45v on the vcore, despite the temp is acceptable, would you not worried that the high voltage would still damage the chip? And I recall for the SandyBridge i5, rather than high temp, they are more intolerant to high voltage.

Thanks, that what I was thinking. Not much to be gained from "upgrading" to a closed loop cooler, apart from adding "bling", the concern of a leak and probably more noise (without upgrading the fans).

I see you have a Gelid Tranquillo. Mine is the v2, and I'm very pleased with it. Probably not the best air cooler when under heavy loads, but does a good job and I am impressed how quiet it is (Tranquillo !).

For the price, it's a steal. If you want to put watercooling on full load cooling, and don't like noisy fans, just swap them out for some Coolermaster Fans, or Be Quiet! fans. They're hardly going to break the bank :)

A couple of decent fans will add ~£15 to the price, and will not stop me being concerned about leaks after the 90 day warranty ends (or even before it ends).

As previously discussed, it's hard to think of any real advantage of a H80 over my existing air cooler.

If I were going to get a closed loop water cooler, I'd spend a bit more on one of the new models with a 5 year warranty. I could get a H80i for £70, but I still can't work out what it really offers over my Gelid Tranquillo.

I was impressed by this deal at first, but a bit of research and thought has changed my mind. The possibility of a noisier cooler (with the supplied fans), the risk of damage to my system (although small, it's a risk that I currently don't have), and the small benefit that it brings, does not appeal.

You can pick up some cooler master sickle flow fans for ~£4-5 each if you look carefully. The Be Quiet! Fans are pretty cheap too, which for £10-20 is a steal again, you're practically getting a med-high end watercooling kit from a trusted supplier (Corsair) and you're getting it cheaper although a shorter warranty period. If you play it safe and dont mess around with the kit too much after installation there's virtually 0% chance it will leak. But, each to their own I suppose :)
