Corsair Obsidian 750D Builds

Dont suppose anyone knows of a way to mount an HDD behind the motherboard tray so i can completely do away with both HDD cages?

Good ol tie-wraps is how I did it on my Air 540 case ;) However it's not something I would recommend as there is no airflow back there on the 750D (nor on the 540 lol - drives got well hot)

It's only used for storage though (movies, music etc) so heat shouldn't be too much of a problem, right?

How exactly did you use the tie wraps?

Well, colour me annoyed.

I finally got around to replacing the stock fans with my some Apache Blacks but i cant mount the second fan directly below the first one because of 3 of the 4 screw hole appear to be threaded. The screws just keep turning and turning. I bought some rubber fan mounts to install them that way but the holes are so small they wont fit through. Not even cable ties will fit.

In the end I just installed the fan in the bottom position (see pic) only to discover that the cable now wont reach the motherboard so i'm going to have to an extension.

I'm kinda miffed to be honest, if I ever try and sell this case i'll have to honest declare the fault.

You can try securing the fans from the inside of the case (behind the panel). Only thing is, you have to use shorter screws. It's probably worth trying.

re built my loop today added a couple of extra radiators as been suffering with heat problems since changing my 7970's for 980ti's please excuse the potato phone pics!

Has anyone experienced any loud buzzing noises with their case? I've tried my best to remove anything that might cause vibrations (HDD mounted in optical bay, removed drive cages, AIO radiator installed with the included rubber mounts etc etc) but I still often get a really loud buzzing. It's not 24/7 but when it starts its unbearably annoying. I've tried and tried to pin point what it is that's causing it without success. When it happens I can make it stop by grabbing the front of the case, putting my hand the SSD mounts (side panel is off, obviously) and with the window side panel off just pinching the motherboard with my fingers makes it stop. With the window side panel on the buzzing is even more noticeable.

I'm completely out of ideas now :(

This is the first time I've heard of this. You said that pinching the board the noise goes away, check the case' MB stand offs and the screws holding the board. Make sure they are secure properly. What about the front panel? have you ruled that out? Any fan in the case that could spinning faster than usual?

I just got back from a trip and had a look at what I was sent from my front panel RMA and it's completely the wrong part, they've sent me I/O ports themselves rather than the actual panel that is peeling off. Really disappointing that they didn't bother to read the description of the issue, I even linked to this thread on the ticket.

Tephnos - Did Corsair send you the correct part?

Just saw this now.

Turns out for some reason it is staying stuck in now. Must have got really angry and just forced it in so much the glue now sticks. :D

The motherboard is nice and secure, doesn't shift about if I try and move it but I still think could be my Raijintek AIO sending vibrations through the motherboard to chassis.

There's a chance it might be my HDD even though its mounted in an optical bay with an Akasa rubberised mounting thingy. The rubber's pretty hard so i'm not convinced it works terribly well at suppressing vibrations.

I'd be surprised if it was being caused by my fans as they're all running at about 700rpm.

Can anyone tell exactly how to remove the optical bay? I've seen people mention drilling rivets but not sure which ones. I wish Corsair had made it easy to remove as the HDD cages.

Man, as much as I love the look of corsair's AF/SP series, I absolutely HATE the rubber dampeners on them. Used the screws they came with and promptly destroyed the rubber because when tightening it is pulled along and then just crumples up or rips.

:(

A few more changes to my 750D today.

first installed a drain loop

and secondly after suffering with poor air flow for too long now I tried to install a 120mm fan into the side window of the case but managed to break the window :( so ordered myself a piece of 500x500 perforated brushed stainless steel plate, cut to size and replaced the window.

bought some black spray paint to match the case but actually really like the contrast of the stainless to the case.

From some benchmarking this afternoon the mod seems to have dropped 15'c off my load temps on my ti's
