Friend owns a 350/360 bhp type r scoob.

impressive car with nice close gearing which I like.

He is well up on his scoobs and has tried his fare share and has mentioned on numerous occasions that the type r is the better car over the P1, obviously this is for his taste.i.e short gearing for nice punchy feel.

anyway it has to be a Evo 5 RS 4g63 4 t w :D

Whichever one you get is going to draw some attention... the P1 will probably get more... but will it be the right attention?

Anyway, all you need to care about is 3 door > 5 door.

You can feel smug knowing that the only Scoob chavs can afford, is a 5 door UK Turbo 2000 :D

Hey now, a little fetling and a UK Turbo can still push the right buttons!

And coming back from Ikea with a car full of swedish flatpack tat will make you wish you bought a 5 door.

2 doors. None of this hatch nonsense on proper jap cars :p

And most of the dodgy ones are imports, they hold their value less.

I've never seen an Impreza in my life that wasn't ugly.

They're all disgusting. But that's not the point - you look at them and they just say "hey dude, jump in and let me RIP YOUR MOFO'IN FACE OFF"!!!!!

Yep, ugly in a "speshul" way. The vehicular equivalent of fat ginger teenager with baseball cap full of semtex and a nasty grudge against his Maths teacher.

...and whilst the adjustable diff goodness is fun I dunno how much real application it would get

More than you think possibly, I'm always fiddling with mine. The DCCD, that is. Bloody good fun.

Type R vote from me.

Oops, sorry. I forgot about you guys with the 4/5 doors (make your mind up :p).

I didn't mean you, andi or Scooby as I'm pretty sure you guys aren't chavs. :)

got the money today :)

a lot more than I thought actually, guess my shares did well, still keeping with my two choices though so I'll go get the cash, come back and see which car you lot say I should buy

4 and 5 doors are different cars ;)

The P1 in question is on the bay right now.

Its not too far away from me actually :)

Would still stick with a Type R though :)

PS - don't mean to be rude but some that have voted may not realise that P1s are technically lesser cars to Type Rs in respect of goodies etc.

oh the type R to insure is 1650 quid all declared, the p1 is 750 all declared

lack of ABS apparently screws you on the type R, thats through Gary Moulson, wont even bother telling you what L&V quoted me, 29 4 years NCB and 3 points - some insurance salespeople should consider a career in standup :D

Maybe so, but countering that the P1 was designed for the UK and as such the suspension etc is better suited to our country roads than that of the Type R.

Bili struts, eibach springs, prodrive geo settings, the rest is identical afaik, stick some coilovers on and get the geo done on the Type R and you're laughing. Wouldn't be surprised if its alright got them.
