As mentioned, thats Reddish-Blue. WRC Blue was called Sonic Blue on classics.

I have heard some say that Type Rs are a bit twitchy and have also heard of people going to a Type R from a 4 door and then going back.

Also, when testing a Scoob with DCCD don't put it on Full Lock and try and do a 3 point turn - it will skip and hop and make nasty noises - I did it once and thought I'd killed the lads diff!! :)

P.S. - Compare the white wheels against the anthracite wheels - which looks best? I want 18"s but can't decide on white or anthracite.

Sonic blue mica metalic is the full name iirc :D

The anthracite look far better then white but gold looks better then those

Had gold and its become a bit of an image killer in the UK of late. Anthracite looks good but makes the wheels look small. Quite like the white for that rally **** look.

How about this for sale on SNet (sorry, don't know how to make pretty clicky things)

Subaru don't use metallic, the use mica. Means much the same thing, iirc though, Sonic Blue isn't mica, so its' just called Sonic Blue.

Subaru have used loads of different paints, Feather White, Pure White, Blade Silver, Light Silver, Royal Silver, Deep Green, Light Green, Green Mica, Yellow Green, Black Mica, Black Mica (different code), Steel Blue, Flamy Red, Bright Red, Canyon Red, Red Mica   , Bright Yellow, Cashmere Yellow, Deep Blue, Reddish Blue, 555 Blue, Dark Blue, Sonic Blue, Deep Blue Mica and Dark Blue Mica.

And that's just the classics.. :o

ive found a couple of other scoobs, one is owned by a mate of a mate, its currently covered in the most stupid plastic addon crap, he has agreed to sell the useless stuff and leave me with the decent spec car underneath, the other alternative is another TypeR but I'm checking out the engines history first before speaking with the owner.

http://www.scoobynet.com/showthread.php?t=499653 - thats the tat mobile

I would remove the vent on the roof, bonnet, the lights, the rear spoiler and the steering wheel, im indifferent about the wheels I still have some 17" P1 rims in my garage from years ago so could shove them on, who knows, but underneath the bolt on crap that car has a serious spec including 6 pots which I have always craved (dunno why)

so thats my new choice for the time being, what do you guys think?

oh I would buy a FMIC for it too, apart from that money would be spent on the ICE and little else :)

Buy it. Burn the lights, the bonnet the dials the wheels. Any other crap that just shouldn't go on a scoob.
Then make it look normal again.
It will be like baptizing it. You will wash away the evil and the car will be born again :D

Is one of those doors a different colour to the reast of the car?

I looked at that one when looking for other for you, thought you'd be put off by the tat. Underneath it does look like a good spec. Wheels need to go. Ditto scoop and lights. Carbon would look good with just bits sprayed up, like fatmanscooby's

worst case I could paint the spoiler, as you remember I had a carbon bonnet on my last scoob so thats realy not putting me off, the wheels im not massively offended by, but as they are 19"s and knowing how quickly scoob go through rubber I could need a second mortgage to pay for the tyre costs alone :)

the more I look at the car the more I know it will look lush in standard livery, as for the interior once the old steering wheel is in place I think I'll really like it, I craved masses of defi dials on my old model. and the rest of the interior is pretty tame, loving the knock link and lambda setup.

anyone care to photoshop it so I can see how it should look :P

having a look now, as its got 6 pots it needs at least 17 maybe 18's

dial wise I might tame down the A pillar to a single unit, I used to have AFR there on my old beast might relocate boost there and have the other essentials in the middle, remainder of the dials can be binned on stealthed in the glove box.

hmm im keen again, just need to find wheels

I'd ditch the Exhaust Gas and the Fuel Pressure guage tbh, not really that useful.

Exhaust Gas is usefull, you can tell if you are about to melt a piston. You could argue that if you have a wideband AFR and and your fuelling is spot-on then there is no reason your EGT will be too high, but remember no.3 piston runs hotter than the rest even with correct fuelling so it's worth monitoring.

EGT is definately worth having if you dont have a wideband.
