Countdown to competition...

nope, I certainly didn't do that either, not me..............

Sorry... :( Typing out some daft mega set on an iPad is just hard work...

BACK SQUAT (142.5 @ 2*2) Haaaaaard. Second set was easier, for some strange reason...?
FRONT SQUAT (8) 60-80-80 Oh, my goodness.
SNATCH GRIP RDL (8) 80-100-100
SAVICKAS (10-5-10 40-55-45 Going to switch to an RSR-type progression with this, I think...
PUSHUPS (10) ss/w 21s Das pumpe.

RSR taper for squat to cut my losses this time around; will book back up next year...

Squat 1RM test today (I know - not really the RSR taper but so what?)...

SNATCH (3) 60-70
BACK SQUAT (1) 130-140-150 Some warm ups in the run-up, but nothing interesting. The 150kg was a bit of a grind and I leant forward more than ideal but never mind - I am happy with this for an early morning fasted session (first in a while). Were I to have tested this evening I probably could have nailed 155kg, but life goes on. :)
SAVICKAS (5) 40(8)-55 Needed the loo, so finished up early. :D

Happy with that: yes, it is only 5kg on my previous but that is fine. I am back to where I started this time last year (), so will hopefully build on this nicely in the coming weeks/months.

Next round will include 8-6-3 to the tune of something like:

112.5kg @ 8*4 (reps*sets)
122.5kg @ 6*4
140kg @ 3*6

Hopefully wind up at 160kg-ish, but we shall see...

Looked for competitions last night and the British Weghtlifting Federation/whatever have changed their sit, meaning only big stuff is listed. :(

Will have to join and find out what local/regional stuff is going on. :(

Last night's workout...

SNATCH (3) 60-70-70-70 Slow, clunky and bar not coming back enough.
BACK SQUAT )*) 112.5-112.5-112.5 No fourth set as was running low on time...
SAVICKAS (8-6-6) 40-52.5-52.5
LAT RAISES ss/w OH BARBELL EXT. (12) All of them. :o

Not bad. Legs are ruined this morning, however - 8s @ 75% is pretty painful without appropriate conditioning. :D

Still, we shall see how this goes - hopefully some nice size and gains to be had from all this. I think I've reached the point where I'm not sure getting to a lean 98-100kg is realistic given my training regime, but no sense in not trying... ;)

Lots of snatch, fnar

*chuckles*

Today, I was lifting at work so decided to switch a few things in...

BACK SQUAT (8) 115-115-115 First set was outrageously hard for some reason, so decided to go full quad/Chan Fu (no torso tilt)... And it was ridiculously easy. :o Knees didn't come in far at all, but the concentric movement was unbelievably easy without having to rely on compromised glutez, hammies and co to dig me out. It feels odd, but that is probably just habit. Will see how this pans out, but I didn't feel like I had actually lifted after the workout... :(
SLDL (5) 110-130-130-130
CLEAN -> 5*PUSH PRESS 70-70-70-70
LAT AND TRI SUPERSETS (*3) LOADS

Interesting output from this session, really... I will keep playing over this next cycle to see how it all works but I don't see any reason to stop squatting like this when it has a direct bearing on my primary lifts.

Good session! quite a bit of volume for that weight on the back squat considering your 1RM! Especially since you said it felt easy towards the end! That 155 is definitely in the bag!

On you're push press do you rebound it, or do you settle it in the front rack position and stand up fully before retreating again?

It wasn't that bad, to be honest: next week's second session will hurt the most.

Push pressed come to a complete stop as I don't like that kind of weight being remotely unstable above my head! :)

SNATCH (3) 60-70-70-80(f1)-90 (f)
BACK SQUAT (8) 117.5-117.5-117.5 More scoop on the eccentric made it harder (and vastus medialis almost exploded with pump... a little bit of scoop brings the powaaaaah!
SNATCH PULL (5) 100-100-100
SAVICKAS (10-9-4) 40-50-50 Haaaard. Must have been the push press. Honest. :D

Forgot to log my Sunday session... basically a lot of stuff that wasn't very heavy. :D

Today...

BACK SQUAT (8) 120-120-120 Phew - that's the last of the 8s...
POWER CLEAN -> 5*PUSHPRESS 70-75-75-75 So much tricep and shoulder fatigue...
LAT RAISE ss/w OH EXTENSIONS (12) Two rounds and then died.

Thanks, guys. :)

Today... trained at work.

SNATCH (3) 60-70-70-75-80(1)-85(1)-85(1) Quite happy with that. 85kg was remarkably clean given I haven't hit that weight for a good while. :)
SNATCH PULL (3s) 110-110-110 Hand were screwed at this point
SLDL (5) 130-140-140 Aha - there are my hamstrings. :D
NEUTRAL GRIP CHINS ss.w WEIGHTED PUSHUPS (10) BW(10)-BW(15)

It's interesting how different bars react in different ways: the Jordan Elite bar I have at home is quite wobbly and flexy when lifting, but the Ivanko at work is pretty solid... and the knurling on the Ivanko starts a lot narrower, so my thighs and shins have been shredded. :D

Training at work sounds like a surefire way to make all kinds of gains :D

If only... :D

Yesterday's training...

SNATCH 1RM 70(3)-80(2)-90 Probably the best lift I have ever performed at over 80kg. Was very happy with that!
SQUAT (6) 122.5-122.5-122.5-122.5 Not too bad at all...
SLDL (5) 120-135-135
CHEST AND TRIZE AND BIZE...
