Covers better than originals

I will probably get shot down for this: Joy Division "Love Will Tear Us Apart" was the original...

However, I heard a cover version by Paul Young first time round. 4 of his tracks/covers were bundled on Nik Kershaw's album "Human Racing". Dad played the album frequently, and that was the version that settled down as my fave.

Don't ban me guys :p

Im I evil Dimond Head.

Don't like the original but the metallica cover is ace. Love the
grittier sounds and james voice.

I nearly posted this one but I don't even know the diamond head version. Metallica win! :)

ETA, I just listened to the Diamond Head version properly and it's really good. Metallica almost did a note for note, beat for beat copy. Still a classic cover and one I'm very fond of :)

Dimebags playing at the end is just sublime

Arguably Burning Spear by Thee Oh Sees is better than the Sonic Youth Original

Ché by Spacemen 3 is arguably better than the Suicide original as well

another than needs no link, but Madworld.

Just to gloat a little (haven't had a chance yet) it was better live! (saw them end of last month for the very first time after 15 years of waiting)

Guy Lombardo And His Royal Canadians - Enjoy Yourself

Prince Buster - Enjoy Yourself

The Specials - Enjoy Yourself (It's later than you think)

I wonder what Guy Lombardo (and his Royal Canadians) would have made of The Specials version, some 40 years after penning the original.
