However, I heard a cover version by Paul Young first time round. 4 of his tracks/covers were bundled on Nik Kershaw's album "Human Racing". Dad played the album frequently, and that was the version that settled down as my fave.

ETA, I just listened to the Diamond Head version properly and it's really good. Metallica almost did a note for note, beat for beat copy. Still a classic cover and one I'm very fond of

Arguably Burning Spear by Thee Oh Sees is better than the Sonic Youth Original

Ché by Spacemen 3 is arguably better than the Suicide original as well
