When do you think organisations should stop using Covid as a reason for things?

My friend’s recycling bin was missed out this morning. She has a Ring doorbell. Showed footage of a bin man walking past the bin, which was on the pavement (same place she puts it each time). Rang the council an hour after the bin lorry went down her road. The council worker said her bin wasn’t emptied due to Covid. What utter BS! Her neighbours’ bins were emptied without issues as Ring footage showed one of the bins dumped by bin men 5m from where it was.

Im getting really annoyed as they keep missing ours yet my tax isnt being decreased. Mine should be collected every week but im lucky if its one in two.
 
I’ll take the punt that we’ll be rising again with whatever variant by October this year. Let’s hope it’s a light version.

As for the bins, who knows.
 
Wish we'd get details of the fall boosters already. Are we getting BA.5 or not?

I see in Canada that Moderna applied to ship their BA.1 booster there, which means they'd have to get BA.1 in autumn and BA.5 after the new year. Which, if we did similar, means anyone below 75 is screwed as they wouldn't get BA.5 at all in the spring boosters.

They have bigger fish to fry now they realise they can kill the pesky public through poverty and economics rather than Covid.
 
I remember watching podcast of the lotuseaters youtube video where Dr Fauci lied to congress saying the US was not funding and never has funded gain of function research at the Wuhan Lab but they where funding it. Gain of function research is to make a virus more infectious to humans/animals.

Somthing does not add up, if the market theory is now true why lie.

Maybe intentionally to offset complacency but I don't think the media generally do a good enough job showing just how much severe cases and deaths have declined, a large part thanks to vaccines though IMO Omicron it also somewhat responsible for that.

Though Omicron still seems as bad or worse than some of the ancestor strains in the elderly (for some reason the ~85+ age group is particularly vulnerable to it - possibly more so than even Delta) especially if unvaccinated, Omicron seems far less likely to turn severe/fatal for otherwise healthy people and somewhat less likely for those with existing health issues - I'm guessing a lot of that is due to the shift in where it reproduces the most in the body meaning a lower chance of issues with lung inflammation.
 
I think we will never know the truth with regards to origin.

But I did see the destruction of freedom that will resonate for many years to come and will in the long run be seen as what diminishes our Liberal way of life.

Governments saw how people react and what they will agree to in a crisis.

The site says they have two days funding left and only 0.1% of readers donate. I say, to paraphrase Jon Snow, never have I seen so many percentage signs in one place. I'll be sticking with my supposed pub friends or Diane Abbott for reliable data. <LOL>

If people could just be responsible in the first place, we'd have never gotten to this point where the virus became forever and uncontrollable, and hiding irresponsibility under a thin veil of 'freedom' is no excuse. These are the consequences of your actions; it will only continue to get worse for you in future pandemics as you fail to learn any lessons from this one because you dug your head in the sand and refused to see what the problem actually was.

Well I failed to avoid it. Covid household here :(

Is anyone on the list of “special people” eligible for treatments? I am only because I had radiotherapy treatment for a possible tumour on my eye in January so I have obviously been put on the list of people who have recently had cancer treatment.

I felt rough yesterday but much better today already. Don’t fancy donating my body to science just yet if I’m already getting over it..

Report the test and see if they contact you within 24 hours. If you think you should have one of the treatments phone 111 or your doctor.
Luckily although I'm on the list I haven't had to try the system out yet...

Yeah I reported the test. Haven’t done the PCR test they sent me ages ago though. But seen as I’ve reported the LFT result they track that too apparently. I guess I’ll wait and see. Apart from a cough today I feel much better. Fingers crossed if I don’t get worse.. it seems a bit daft to try out some drugs for the fun of it.. :confused:

Read the title of the graph and explain to me what it means. I strongly suspect “source ons” relates to the source data and not that ”data insight”.
