COVID-19 (Coronavirus) discussion

My parents’ friend went on a Vikings cruise and felt rough and shivering. Took a LFT with a kit they took with them. He tested positive. Told ship staff about positive test. They said parents’ friend needs to take the Viking tests. Which left a pack by cabin door. Negative.
 
I just caught it for the first time. Felt a bit dizzy and sick yesterday, now today my throat is very sore and its painful to swallow. Feels no worse than a normal cold other than the painful throat.
 
I came down with it on Monday, headaches, fever. Really thick line on the LFT test, very positive. Had an insane fever dream night Monday drifting in and out of consciousness.

Fever abated by Tuesday night, then the sore throat got going, which then progressed to my chest. I haven't been coughing much thankfully, because my throat feels red raw and it would hurt like hell.....my lungs feel wrecked though, really short of breath, reminds of being at high altitude in the Andes, just hard to catch my breath.

Throat is less sore now, but feels swollen and battered. Chest is still really tight. Lateral flow test is still positive this morning.

Going a bit stir crazy at home, and really want to do some exercise, but given how short of breath I am I'm a little terrified I'm going to have this long-term like some people I know...... :(
 
Well after 2 and half years of dodging it in London I have finally got it! Thanks Winnie the Pooh. Was at work yesterday, feeling ok except I had a blocked nose and was sneezing, I thought it was because I had the fan on me all night and I usually get sinus issues this time of the year. Nope! last night woke up in a ball of sweat and a dry cough so did a test and positive. Being a supervisor at work I was in contact with a lot of people yesterday so a bit concerned I have passed it around.

I assumed it's a scam message, for one they wouldn't have sequenced the variant for track and trace and two, do we even have a track and trace system anymore?! :cry:

Just highlighting the fact these messages are going around and to stay vigilant against the scammers

I don't know why I bother with people.
Yesterday in a pub somebody declaring that Covid is just a cold so somebody said ask Dave what he thinks.
"Look mate, if it was just a cold why have we at this moment got 135 covid patients in our hospital, in 14 years of working at the hospital I've never known one person to be admitted into a ward with a cold. I've known flu cases but still not this amount all year round, so no it's not a cold".
I then went the bog.

This morning it looked quite convincing but the menu button gave errors.

Since they don't mention which variant, I am presuming it is already the outdated BA.1 version.

Would rather have BA.5. Very unlikely people my age would get a spring booster containing BA.5, so we will get screwed again I bet.
