COVID-19 (Coronavirus) discussion

No, you slaves to the system caused it, not people "not taking it seriously". You accepted cruel and unusual lockdowns, restrictions on liberty, whilst flirting with even more extreme measures....because you were all cowards and easily cowed like history shows to tucking your forelock to your masters who saw your dog like obedience and laughed at you whilst they lived their own lives.

If even you are saying 80000 deaths from something known versus unknown then really the jokes on you. I just feel bad for all the poor swines who are dying and will die a needless death. I certainly don't feel bad for the people who let their mothers and fathers and family die all alone. These people are beneath contempt.

Covid is a load of ******* i don't know anyone who has had it, been ill from it, hospitalised from it or died from it. If you stick one of those test kits in a kiwi fruit it comes back positive:D

Taking you seriously for a moment - not sure how that is possible unless you live somewhere pretty remote. I think over half the people I know have had it now and in many cases it is fairly distinct from a cold or flu.

I don't personally know many people who've had it seriously let alone died from it where it has been the only or major cause of death but I know plenty of people who've had a moderate dose of it with in some cases significant impact - my boss for example went from someone literally marathon fit to barely being able to make it through a day at work walking short distances for months and 3 people at work developed heart conditions post COVID, 1 of which has had 2 heart attacks and has to carry around a medical bag in case of any further events.

Hindsight is a wonderful thing.
All I know is when I just work at a PC and I'm being asked to go and work in a COVID ward because so many staff are ill there's something seriously wrong.
When I watched bodies being taken out by Porters one after another I knew there was something not quite right.
Of course they could have all been actors putting a show on for me.
I do often wonder that if I still worked on a factory at the time what I would have thought about it because it sounded like a far fetched movie.

Bugger. As of this morning my sense of taste has become scrambled. Can’t taste espresso notes properly.

Edit: Wife too lol

Interesting info

37k fewer people getting cancer treatment than there should be and diagnosis through the floor

1100 people diagnosed with cancer every day in the UK

Yes it's awful but I've got to add that a lot of those numbers are because patients had appointments but were scared to come to the hospital.
I don't know what percentage but there were loads at our place where they just DNA'd.
When I deal with Cancer cases, on their patient journey timeline you will see cancellations and DNA's so both were happening which has led to disaster for some patients.

COVID + Christmas sucks - feeling fortunate I'm not sick this year as last Christmas was pretty miserable with it.
It sucks indeed.

The other half tested positive for covid last Friday, my son got it a few days later and I managed to avoid it until this Friday.

Because of this we have had to cancel plans with family which I was looking forward too as we had to cancel fireworks night on the 5th of November due to my parents being unwell (they never tested for covid though)

For me though I was poorly Friday, Saturday I was feeling better and Sunday again, I was better than the day before. Today all I have is a cough left over and feeling fine.

I have had 4 x covid jabs over the years as I am asthmatic and my son is in the vulnerable class.

To be honest my family have managed to avoid getting covid until the last few weeks as we still kept a lot of the restrictions in place even when they where relaxed

I'm laid up to the eyeballs. Negative for COVID though, just a dose of man flu.
Same, because of the above. This is the first Christmas I'm not working, and was supposed to be going over my Sister's for Boxing Day. But she's starting a new job in the new year and doesn't want to risk catching man flu. Shows how effective PPE is though, I wear it daily at work (mask, gloves and aprons) and still I manage to catch the dreaded lurgy. Sat here with a massively congested head, cold shivers and sweats and dripping snot at an alarming rate.

Hope you feel better soon.

I was poorly for 1 day and each day after got better, I still have a slight cough every now and then but that's it, I did not want to risk passing it on to my dad\mum which was why we cancelled our plans and will arrange for the first week in Jan.

Same here. I've been ill with something mild for 7-10 days then it's either got worse or something has layered on top of it. Bad chesty cough, crazy headache and sinus/eye pain but no loss of smell or taste. It's all a bit strange really because I feel like utter trash, can't sleep and Garmin is telling me I've been under constant stress for the last 48 hours. Heart rate is up 20% and I'm shattered but nothing on a COVID test.

Already up at folks house when it hit hard, wife is feeling a bit rough today as well.

Not a cough but got the headache and pain if I'm reading etc it's almost like sensitivity to light oddly!

Garmin going bonkers too, great little watches (no point in a venu 2 plus though - I've never used the plus part..)

My forerunner knows I'm ill a good 24 hours before I do, just looking at the stress charts.

Yep. Those are exactly the symptoms I've got. Sat here with the heater on full whack, but when I go downstairs into the cooler part of the house the shivers start.

Here's my Garmin stress chart from yesterday lol. Bare in mind I was laid in bed all day.

Whatever has gone around at work in the last few weeks has been a bit like that, though not as bad for anyone including myself from work. It has been a struggle to throw off the slight cough and lingering sniffles/sinuses, especially any time you are out in the cold, with the heating not properly working at work not helping, it seems to set you back.
