****CRACKING deal on 4GB 8500 Kits from Kingston @ £39.99 Inc****

I currently have 4gb Corsair PC6400 running at 500mhz this was done by just upping the cpu fsb from 266 to 333 (Q6600 currently running at 3.0 mhz). Im think of getting some of the kingston PC8500.

My question is would I be able to just up the fsb to get my Q6600 running at say 3.4 mhz temps are only going into the 50's under full load ides at around 36c. The Corsair refuses to go beyond 500mhz which is a decent enough but if the Kingston allows more then I will order some today :)

Im not 100% but tbh mate i got 6400 Ram atm and with my E8400 i can only go to 425 FSB it will not go above 850mhz which is a bit poor it seems so i ordered some of this stuff (8bg of it) and i can report back on monday :)

have my set in a p35 ds3 motherboard
no extra volts on any settings
ram @ 1066 5 5 5 15 in bios i think

has done 2 loops in memtest no errors
did 5 loops of ibt passed fine.
all seems to good to be true or have i missed something
should i test some more?

1.8vDimm for 400MHz/DDR2-800 maybe but I doubt that's enough for 533MHz/DDR2-1066

You can try setting the vDimm manually, probably best to start at 2.1v and work downwards from there! :D

I'm just interested to see how these chips perform and if there is any voltage headroom to help the memory run faster than DDR2-1066!

ok but on the ds3 you can only add volt in .1
so for 2.1 i would have to set +.3 in the bios
but im not seeing any problems yet
so i wanted to see how i should test more to see if it needs it.

I would like to see who has managed to get them higher and by how much. As mine would not boot or memtest would lock up after 8 mins @ 1125 2.3v

Any chance you guys who've bought this Kingston RAM could upload your reviews to The OcUK website.

Click the reviews and add product review.

I'll upload them straight away and fame shall be yours!! :D

Cheers. ;)
