Cricket World Cup thread

Take that India :D something to smile about today at least lol :D

LOL oh dear India lost to Bangladesh, what a shocker of an upset there. Saying that though the Pak match is odds on to be the biggest shock of the WC yet if the Irish manage to beat Pak. Thankfully its raining there at the moment so who knows.

What a return by Sami though, takes 3 early wickets..should have been playing right from the start against WI. I just hope that they dont ever pick Rana again...beard or no beard:p.

Anyways pak are definitely out if they lose this, which would be a massive embarrassment for them and the PCB...just hope that the PCB learn from this disasterous WC...but my money says they wont...got too many village idiots trying to run the show but in effect are ruining it for pak cricket and their supporters.

Pakistan crash out of the world cup.

Time to rebuild a new team starting with a new coach and a new captain, utterly shameful.

What another ****'ing crap display by the gutless spineless pakistani players. Dreadful batting as usual and bowling:(. Have to admit that the Irish got lucky today....irish luck and all that etc but well done to them.

Inzi and Woolmer are not going to have an easy ride when they get back to Pakistan, wouldnt be surprised if someone made a hit on the both of them as the blame lies squarely at their feet for an utterly pathetic and shocking WC outing.

In a way im glad Pakistan are out, at least we pak supporters wont have to put up with their crappy performances and their stupid taliban-esque beards:p.

This is one of the biggest shocks in WC history and will be a very bitter pill to swallow. Fast becoming a WC full of shock victories and the like ie India losing to Bangladesh was nothing short of a shocking loss for them.

Guess i was right all along at the start of this thread when i said Pakistan wont even get past the group stages...guess i was right all along.

Oh well im hoping the Aussies wont let me down now:p...at least they can bat and bowl better than the Paks:p.

Well inzamam putting the defeat down to God as usual, nevermind actually hitting the gym and doing sum training you fat git

I didn't bother watching any matches today, as I thought they'd be easy wins, well shocked at both results and good wins for the minnows.

well well well, what can I say! This has been an unreal day. Thought ireland might win six nations but never thought ireland would win the cricket. Am just totally speechless and its a proud moment for the Irish! Now for the bbc highlights starting soon cause I was out earlier and missed the finale! Amazing stuff.

I haven't been paying much attention so far. I sure picked a fine day to start watching. :D

Just a shame it had to end on a bad note with the England team looking like fools, especially after their first result. If there's any truth to what's in the News of the World today then heads should roll. However, given the *cough* quality *cough* of that waste of paper I'll do what all good Umpires should do and give the players the benefit of the doubt until more trustworthy sources prove otherwise.

Would have liked to have seen the NI vs Zimbabwe match.

If your talking about the fine situation ie they went clubbing after their loss from what i read over at cricinfo....it seems that it is true and not very becoming of a side that should be looking intently as to why they lost and how they lost tbh.

Nope, not that one, another one.

Only got a brief mention on Sky Sports, and no sign online yet (no surprise). I expect there will be more details by breakfast time.

"Brit tabloid the News of the World, meanwhile, alleges in Sunday's edition that a drunken Freddie Flintoff had to be RESCUED from the sea at four in the morning, after a jaunt on a pedalo!"

to be taken with multiple pinches of salt, i mean, come on???

I put more value in the bag of rock salt I have by the front door than I do a typical NotW story, but given the other shenanigans there's bound to be questions asked by some. Time will tell.

LOL PMSL @Pakistan!
It's nothing more than that lying, arrogant bigot of a chairman deserves, hope he's squirming this morning. :)
Well played Bangladesh too, although it's nowhere near as big a shock as at least they're a Test playing nation & have the Aussies scalps previously so they know how to win, great stuff:)

Losing to Bangladesh isn't as embarrasing as losing to Ireland :p. And well played to Ireland, sending Pakistan home already consdering it is the easiest group on paper :). The India/Bangladesh ended up being a close match, and credit goes to Sehwag for that, made up for his poor batting by getting some important wickets. The game went down to the final balls, so its not that bad of a result. Bangladesh are an improving team. I think its a team to watch out in the future, perhaps this world cup!

Good luck to the Pakistan team. They can concentrate more on their religion now ;)

i felt so sorry for poor old inzi when he was interviewed by tony cozier.. the poor fella was so genuinely heartbroken he hadnt a clue what to say really.. :o
