"Brit tabloid the News of the World, meanwhile, alleges in Sunday's edition that a drunken Freddie Flintoff had to be RESCUED from the sea at four in the morning, after a jaunt on a pedalo!"

to be taken with multiple pinches of salt, i mean, come on???

You mean this story eh??;)..straight from Cricinfo :p

Dear oh dear Flintoff :p

flintoff dropped (not off the pedalo)

http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/cricket/6464187.stm

Bopara is in for the naughty Flintoff and Canada have won the toss and put England in. A further statement on Flintoff "will be issued in due course". I was just wondering what an irate Duncan Fletcher would look like. Funnily enough, Nasser Hussain thinks England have done the right thing in dropping Freddie, Ian Botham thinks it's an "over-reaction". I wonder what Both thinks would have been unacceptable? Slaughtering some junior members of the team, making ear necklaces out of them and indulging in some exotic fungi until the early hours? Hussain has also suggested Flintoff was warned "three or four times" about his late-night sessions in Australia and "bringing back a drinking culture" into the England team. The plot thickens.

Latest news - England v Canada
Andrew Flintoff has been dropped by England as they take on Canada in a must-win World Cup match in group C.

He was omitted for a breach of team discipline after allegedly getting into difficulties on a pedalo.

Canada won the toss and sent England in to bat with Ravi Bopara coming in to play in place of Flintoff to earn his second cap in one-day internationals.

Flintoff was dropped for disciplinary reasons, but other England players who were fined were named in the side.

No big loss really. his battings totally gone to pot and his bowling shouldn't be needed against Canada anyway.

Would Fletcher have had the guts to drop him against one of the big teams though?

No surprise beefy didn't agree with it he'd have been permanently dropped in his day if you'd got in trouble for boozing and late nights!!

Bearing in mind that Botham himself was well known for his, shall we say, amorous behaviour and late night sessions, neither of the responses (his and Hussain's) carry any surprises.

Anyway, on with the match...

Not at all surprised Flintoff has been left out, serves him right for his antics i suppose. Cant see england losing this but then after yesterdays match with ireland knocking out Pakistan...nothing is too certain.

Well im rooting for the Canadians today :D seeing as i lived most of my life there and would desperately love to see them stick it to the English:p. But i dont think England will have too many problems against them tbh, should be an easy victory for them.

Meanwhile Aussies playing the Dutch and that Jonkman fella looks like a woman...had to do a double take when i saw him...lol...Think the Aussies will have a pretty easy ride though....cant see them having too much trouble against the Dutch tbh.

EDIT: Aussies cruising along nicely 73/0 off 12 overs so far...England are also cruising along nicely 60/0 off 11 overs so far.

On another note, Pakistan have been likened to the laughing stock of world cricket...story here :http://content-www.cricinfo.com/wc2007/content/current/story/285881.html

Cant say i disagree with the guy, says it all really:rolleyes:

It's worrying about Flintoff, hope he is not becoming the Gazza of Cricket.

Apparently he was warned 4 times in Australia for his drinking and was famously hammered on the bus parade when we won the ashes in England (which is ok-ish because it was after the series, great scene’s them especially freddy slurring his words to thousands..lol)

But WTF Freddy Capsized, pedalo, rescued and 4AM are not good terms to describe your behaviour at the start of the world cup.

w00t \o/ Canada got Vaughan out :p, played a silly shot and his reaction said it all lol. At least he shows some reaction unlike a certain Pak captain...Still England are doing quite well...101/1 off 20 overs...not bad going tbh

Aussies on the other hand have had a few hiccups..lost 2 wickets..Hayden and Gilchrist, who made a lovely half century but then got out. Ponting as usual survived a drop catch by a dutch fielder...who seemed to have caught the ball and as he was about to throw it up in the air...the ball dropped out of his hands pmsl:p.

EDIT: LOoks like Ponting is now out...oh oh looks like the Aussies are in a bit of trouble now...:/...119/3 is what they have made and now have 2 new batsmen at the crease. Seems to be an interesting game this Dutch-Aussie match.

England are flippin useless Bell and Joyce faffed about prodding and poking for about 10 overs like they were playing against the best bowling attack in the world then both got out playing dumb shots.

Now KP is out and England gonna struggle to put 250 on the board at this rate!

England finish 279/6 after the 50 overs a couple of quick knocks from Collingwood and Nixon got them to a more respectable total.

Should be more than enough doubt Canada will get more than 150.

Good recovery from Collingwood and Bopara I thought. I honestly felt that we werent going to make 220-230 at one stage.

Got me thinking (as my betfair account is low)

JUST FOR FUN

Submit a predicted total for Canada's innings with a five run margin and your central figure (mean) been your precise score.

I will say 129-134 (132 accurate)

play along if you want. (i will keep record of all those that do and announce the winner after the game)

KP seemed like he had the hump about something today.
I'd quite like to see Collingwood bat at 4, but I'm not sure how to fit that in to the current side. KP at 3, Bell at 5 might do it but it won't hapen.

Oh dear Flintoff sacked as Vice Captain..tut tut naughty boy hes turned out to be:p.

Not a bad total from England, should easily bowl Canada out i would imagine...am happy that Pietersen got out quite cheaply...:p. Just a shame that Canada havent got the talent to compete with the big boys. But been an entertaining match so far.

Come on Canada!!!! :p

Aussies did a pretty nice demolition job of the Dutch, Hodge getting a century...hes turning out be quite a player and Clarke was close to getting his century but sadly didnt get it. Again shouldnt be too hard for them to bowl the Dutch out especially with McGrath bowling the way hes been bowling. Quite close to surpassing Wasim Akram record haul of WC wickets.
