Crucial M4 010G firmware update

Just updated to this as I was having some major issues writing - on patching games (eg Planetside 2) it would slow down the whole system and make it in-operable while patching - this seems to have increase the speed again!

edit; did a benchmark - maybe not:

Do you think it could be Diskeeper messing up the speeds? Does anyone use it?

I'm not sure how to fix it, but its a bit slow.

Just a bump from this, reinstalled Windows this morning due to GPU Driver issues.

Anyway, thought my system seemed a bit quicker from the previous issues.

That would explain it :) Not sure what happened/fixed it, but did a clean Formatted install and it seems ok again!

There was a firmware update to the C400 which is the OEM version of our drive with the following fixes.

- Reduces the time necessary for the system to power on (boot).
FIXES:
- Fixes an issue where the system loses the SATA link which subsequently causes
an issue where the system cannot detect a SSD that is connected to the system.
- Fixes an issue that causes the SSD to become corrupted when the system is
powered off.

Hopefully this means the M4 should get the update soon and the drives dropping out of the BIOS with the 010G firmware should be fixed.

How come my speeds are much faster than yours, using same SSD?

We are in the final test and validation phase for a new Crucial m4 SSD firmware (040H/04MH), expected in mid-December.

It includes incremental improvements and refinements over previous versions which we expect will improve the overall user experience.

We will post an announcement here as soon as the new firmware is available.

I guess I will just upgrade to that :D I don't have all the components for my new build, so the SSD will be sitting inside its box on my desk for the time being.
