Crysis 1.1 is here

What a joke.

Cannot even play it smoothly on an X6800+8800GTX @ 1360x768.

Crytek make good looking games but what is the point if only a hardcore SLI/Crossfire gamer can play the thing smoothly.

Its no wonder this has poor sales as it should have been optimised for current hardware.

What settings are you running?

I am running it with the XP very high hack relatively smoothly (most above 30fps atm) @ 1680x1050 on my 8800GTX / E4300 @ 3ghz.

One thing I have noticed that severly cripples the performance is the shadows. I also can't tell the difference between shadows on high or medium yet having them on medium gives a substantial performance boost.

I also have post processing on medium as having it on high makes me feel sick.

Something really wrong with your setup there mate. Unless your running 512MB of ram or something :p

Mines dead smooth same card and a Q6600 on a much higher res.

Everything on max except for AA as it cripples it totally plus I have vsync on as my 40" HDTV demands max visuals + vsync otherwise it looks bad. The game is smooth sometimes then stutters badly depending on how much on screen fire/smoke/enemies at the same time. Its easy to notice this on a larger screen unfortunately. The last aircraft carrier level is the worst of the lot and shockingly bad for the hardware I am using (QX6850 is a lot worse so I use the X6800 for gaming).

4GB and XP (sees 3.12GB Ram) is also maxed out performance wise as I have just rebuilt my gaming PC and defragged the HD etc etc.

The game is just badly coded which when you enable vsync become more noticeable on a HDTV.

With vsync off it is very smooth but tears badly sometimes.

Absymal coding. People with patch falling with "Insert DVD" error - it's retarded - if you have any custom config files, added resolutions etc, removed trailers from Crysis\Game\Localized\Video the patch in some instances will fail, then try to access DVD to restore originals at which point SecuROM throws a tantrum. If you have any drive emulators present at this stage, being SecuROM, it will fail too. The patch, basically needs a patch. And all that for almost no performance gains... What were they doing all those months? /throws head in his hands/

Btw. Does your "validating" stage make the drive shake with horrible sounds?

i noticed some difference. only custom configs dont seem to be working :S either that or ive done something wrong.

ags

hello again there, had the EXACT same problem, your loading a save game right? restart the level in question and all will be fine :) can't say i noticed any real improvement except the level just after 'core' seems to run a bit better, and the game feels slightly smoother, but only in DX10, dunno if that helps

Edit: though its worth noting the sky was all dark and i couldn't figure out which CVAR (the config you showed in other thread) was causing it

Well I have to say I'm happy so far with it.
The benchmark score was only up 2 fps, but I've been on a few multiplayer maps and they are a lot smoother. It seems to have got rid of the lag spikes which I used to get. Playing the Beach harbor map was always the worst because of all the water, but its fine now.
Also the AA tank finally works without blowing yourself up. :)

Just need to get more people to play online, its a lot of fun.

Using the 169.25 vista 64, and the 64bit crysis.
