Crysis 3 official, release date is 2013

How's he removed his suit?
Since they were meant to be dead men walking, etc etc.

Alcatraz was a dead man walking because he was in a critical condition from the attack at the beginning of Crysis 2 and the suit kept him alive, i can't remember exactly the cutscene with Prophet and Hargreave, but i remember Prophet saying along the lines that he doomed them all, and i can't remember exactly why that was and i cba to watch it again on YouTube, but Prophet seemed fine without the suit until he shot himself due to having the infection at the beginning of Crysis 2.

I know about Alcatraz, but I'm not referring to him.
Prophet says his team were dead men walking.

The Prophet suit thing was his suit was meant to be different (IIRC he had the 2.0 suit) But that was only thrown in when they decided to pretend Crysis 1 never happened, and then they brought in Crysis 2 which never had any explanation at all about the rather questionable events the whole way through.

Indeed.
They're not just suits.

I don't expect the Psycho question to ever get answered, I mean why do they need to? People forget plot elements way too easily, as proven by the replies here, that's not a bash to anyone.

ALCATRAZ had a broken back/ ribs and numerous bullet holes, internal organs all shot through..

Psycho/ prophet were both ok 3 years ago, the term ``dead man walking`` refers to both of them being sent on a ``suicide mission`` and not expected to return..... Prophet was upset that his men were sent on suicide missions.

Alcatraz in comparison, was already almost dead, Prophet put his suit onto a corpse, rather than the corpse into a body bag !!!! :D

Prophet was dieing of that disease in New York, but it was not related to the events of 3 years ago

they were sent 3 years ago to collect Alien Data/ investigate/ test the suits, but it was a suicide mission, Prophet was upset because of Hargreaves selfish/ callous attitude, he only cared for the suit because he wanted to develop the suit to HEAL HIMSELF ONLY and therefore come out of Stasis...the suit was semi Alien DNA merging with human, so Hargreaves sent him back to get these DNAs to merge even more.

that's why he tried to get the suit off Alcatraz, so he could be re-born and immortal, this was always going to be his goal, the story is actually quite good, there's no faults, it's fairly accurate.... he wanted that suit because the two DNAs had now merged enough to grant himself immortality, this took 3 years.

Prophet realised this too late, because Prophet originally thought the suit was being tested for army purposes to improve our soldiers, no it was a suit to bring Hargreaves back to life and to turn him into a super- human tyrant, but it would take another 3 years for the suit to advance enough, it had done so by the end of Crysis 2

Hargreaves wanted to be God on Earth, another Hitler type, but to do this he'd need to unstoppable and this is what the suit was developed for..... for him only.

none of this would have worked for him because the suit had Prophet's personality ( bound to) who hated Hargreaves, the suit would have killed or altered Hargreaves DNA pretty damned quick, it would have been a very Dumb Ass thing for him to do, because that suit was alive and wanted him dead!

they couldn't get the suit of Alcatraz could they, no and i expect they still cant, Alcatraz has probably joined the resistance with Psycho.

Mal are you making guesses?
The dead men walking referring to a suicide mission I don't buy for one second.

Prophets suit was also meant to be different.

EDIT : There's also plenty of faults, the nuclear strike worked so well in Crysis 1, lets nuke them again in Crysis 2.
Also, wouldn't a suicide mission be counter productive? Since they'd all be dead, and no suit for Hargreaves?
I also assume the other nano suit teams just vanished from thin air.

I think you're just too easily pleased if you think this is a good story.

The story has indeed gone off the rails but what MAL X has stated above is the same impression I got out of playing Crysis 2

Isn't that trying to take an incoherent plot and make it somewhat coherent by basically making your own answers for things?
There's tons of other stuff.
"The suits the only thing that's keeping him alive" (Referring to Alcatraz), they turn the suit off. Oh look, Alactraz is still alive.

Sure, he might not die instant, but you turn off a life support machine, they're going to die pretty fast, it's the same thing.

There's a part where the suit deactivates and Cell have you surrounded (After you've just went through the window with a Cell soldier) magically you're scott free when the suit comes back online.

Well it could mean anything, but it doesn't make very much sense to send a multi-billion dollar suit on a suicide mission.

My interpretation of the "Dead Man Walking" comment was that the suits would irreversibly change the men inside; maybe merging with them, or rebuilding them, using their organs as material.

So they would become "dead" as humans, and become dependent on the suit for life support - becoming neither human, nor machine, but something unknown.

Which would make sense Fox eye, given and I quote "they're symbiotic"

Yet we've just seen Psycho 20 years on or whatever happy as larry.
Don't even get me started on the comic which added time travel and all other crazy stuff.

The comic was terrible and after reading it I just LMAO!!

Crysis series should have continued with Nomad. By bringing Alcatrez in, who was nobody, Crytek followed similar path which Hideo initiated by bringing Raiden into MGS2 and screwing up the feel, atmosphere and storyline.

Well, most works of fiction are flawed. And normally the sequels just add more plot holes ;)

You get the impression that outside of the literary world, there just isn't an appetite for spending too long on the plot. Hire a write for a couple days and call it job done!

Same with films today. Get some guy whose previous work was a Coca Cola commercial to write the script (in a couple months), then hire an intern to re-write it in a couple days, call it a wrap. Then spend millions on CGI and famous actors :p

I thought Crysis 1 was brilliant, I felt the ending set the stage brilliantly, Crysis Warhead I liked too, some epic parts on it, the specimen they took back etc.

I was REALLY looking forward to Crysis 2 until it was actually announced.

I mean seriously, what they set up could have been brilliant, but then they just turned it into something entirely different with the troll suit (Nano suit 2.0 but in all ways felt like a downgrade to me, not being able to sprint normally, no proper strength mode etc)

As someone who first experienced MGS with Raiden, I thought he was fine.

I played MGS1 after and liked Snake too, but I didn't see the big deal about replacing him in 2.

Poor Raiden gets such bad press :p

Thing is, they killed Nomad off, and put the spotlight on a character who had been MIA half of the previous game lol, only to snuff him out minutes into Crysis 2, to be replaced by a random marine, only to then assume the name of Prophet at the end, and have Crysis 3 mentioning Prophet.
Snake didn't snuff it from 1 to 2 :p
