Crysis - 'Ultra High' System Requirements

I think the only thing that will prevent this from being run on very high settings on most people's rigs here is the driver's, once nvidia and ati get some resonable vista/dx10 support in their drivers we should see an improvement, i'm not sure about ati but going to the 160.04's for me was a huge jump and made every game much smoother, hope future drivers offer as much of an improvement

cool means my 8800GTS 320 Superclocked should be good enough...Hmmm 6600 ey? think my 6300 will be ok. So all I need is a new 500gb HDD (fresh start) and Vista. Sorted.

Depending on the cash situation, I may upgrade something else, CPU or RAM.

Well, I'm investing in a new X2 4400 next week, so hopefully. that along with my 7900GS 512MB and 2GB should allow me to run it in DX9 at medium settings.

Got a Freezer Pro64 too, so the 4400 will be probably be clocked to around 2.6ish!

you will probably run into gpu limitation before cpu.

One thing people seem to be forgetting when they say they don't believe it, is that the GTS is an amazing piece of technology. Why would you be surprised it would run a great looking game at 'ultra' settings if the game is coded properly :p

Thats pretty ok specs even though i come in minimum and recomended. Ill soon upgrade my card to bring that up to recomended.

I thought the ultra high settings were for systems that don't yet exist so it will still be an impressive engine in the future?

Meh, tis all guesswork anyway atm

ati x3000 anybody ?

Guys if Cevat says that those are the specs you will need to run it on "ultra high" quality levels, then we should believe him - he is the chief developer!
He knows his technolgy, and what it is capable of.

Plus the 8800 GTS is a ruddy fast piece of kit, and 640 MB of VRAM is a lot.
I think those videos were done using a saingle 8800 GTX and a Core 2 Duo E6600, and they ran like butter

Definetly, my e6300 limits my overclocked gtx on benchmarks :o

think your the other way round then mate ;) what your describing is cpu limitation.
hard to believe which means your not putting all details to max or using 16xAA at high resolutions.

Lord only knows how Crysis is going to perform.

doubt the lord even has a pc. :p

crysis is said to be designed for the pc from the ground up. if the game runs silly slow like rainbow 6 vegas then it will be the end of pc gaming. if the best programmed game for the pc is slow then that means stuff like rainbow 6 vegas is not badly coded and its just the pc which doesn;t have the power to cope, hence the console rush begins.

I don't really mind if it runs at ultra high or not, If/when I get a new machine prob with a e6320 and 8600gt I should hope it runs at mid-high on my resolution of 1024x768 :P

The thing about crysis is that after a year or so, when there are new gpu, they will release a patch that will increase the settings. Other wise every body will be complaining that they cant run crysis on high, have a paddy.
