Am I the only one who thinks hot hatches aren't all about power and straight line speed?
You're not the only one. I'd rather have a car that I can get 100% from and love every second than something that meant after a prod at the accelerator, you'd have to slow it before it got out of hand/well over the limit.
They're classed as being 'fizzy' and not hot hatches though. But because of my reasoning above, that's why - for example - I'd choose the new Golf GTI over any of its competitors. It's ''slower'', but more useable - and still a hot hatch.
