I started reading this thinking you were being serious. I became suspicious when I reached "flew through a littlechef" but hadn't ruled it out, and you lost me at the school bus.

A shame you're having to shelve the S/C idea. Then again, those are a fair few accidents within the past couple of years

Well that's why I chose the CRZ in the first place, something a little more sedate however I like it so much I would rather tune it than change.
Look like I will be hanging onto it in it's current form for a little longer still then!

Yeah that sounds like a good plan. If you love it so much you'll probably end up disappointed with your replacement in some way.

Yeah the problem is, if it is to replace my car I would would it to be:
- similar running cost
- similar age
- more performance
- around £13K
- able to insure
- be slightly left field
which narrows it down a lot lol

And yep that certainly narrows it down. Were the quotes you got from online quote systems or did you phone them up? The prices differed greatly for me when phoning up.
